I'm not a Melania fan, but seems too harsh and not true to my knowledge. I just read an article on her roots and how fashion got her out of Slovenia and onto Milan and eventually NYC. Oh, please. She married that orange Sack O Crap for his money. Do you really think she would have married him if he was a plumber or landscaper? When you put out for money, you're in the oldest profession. The oldest profession is selling to multiple customers not one. Yes, she absolutely married for money. Whore and hooker get thrown out way too often to denigrate women. She sold out to marry money, she didn't have multiple Johns.
We don't agree on this.

Actually, I think it means only that one is more selective. They can afford to be if their one client is wealthy enough.

Whatever. Your calling her "Slovenian arm candy borrowed from Michelle Obama" (in a rather amusing dangling participle) to me indicates you don't think she's too bright. If I'm wrong, let me know.
I believe the discussion was education level of First Ladies. I guess this means Virgil is presuming Melania attains that status.
If you want to put quotes on Slovenian, feel free. I'm quite sure there should be a "that" in there somewhere.
Why doesn't it bother me that some Slovenian arm candy borrowed from Michelle Obama after all the wretched spew from her husband has passed muster with the repo base?

I don't know what he meant, but let's be real, Donald married her for her looks and youth, not her intelligence. If he got some of that in the bargain I'm sure he's happy, but appearances are more important to him than substance IMO. I don't know much about her, but she seems like a human Barbie doll/stepford wife, which is what Trump wanted.
Someone to dress up in pretty things, to stand there and smile, something Trump thinks other men would be envious to have themselves.
I kind of feel sorry for her, she probably married Trump thinking she would be set for life, spending her time at the pool and at social events, getting her hair done and picking out designer dresses (which is a perfectly good job if you can get it) and then she gets trust into the lime light and expected to 'act like a president's wife.'
Not what she wanted, not what she planned for, not what she's qualified to do, she can't be all that happy about it. Just kind of sucked into the Trump vortex.

It appears the 'facts' indicate that as far as first ladies go, the highest levels of education were achieved by Michelle and Hillary. And Michelle is the first to graduate not only from 1 but 2 Ivies!

Meh, so what if part of her speech was plagiarized. Is it not conceivable that her parents instilled in her that she needs to work hard for what she wants in life? To me it is something all good parents instill in their children.
I am aware that it may have been plagiarized, but count me as someone who thinks it is not really a big deal. I still plan to vote democrat (as in there is no way in hell I will vote for Donald, and a slim chance I would vote for a Republican anyways).
I thought Melania did a very good job speaking last night. She may not have a degree but don't they say she speaks about 5 languages? My DH thought her accent was hard to understand and that her English was not so good - but I had no problem understanding her.
As far as I am concerned Hillary and Michelle have equivalent educations - I would have a hard time calling one more educated than the other. Isn't a JD equivalent to a Doctorate? Not dissing Laura Bush's Masters at all, but it is not = to a JD right?
I speak five languages and my mother spoke eight. Doesn't mean either of us would make a great First Lady. Well we don't elect first lady - so there are no qualifications that say you have to speak any language at all. I am impressed by anyone that speaks more than one language.

The camera kept panning his kids while she was speaking - I really wanted to know what they were thinking. I didn't get the impression it was warm fuzzies.

We've already established what you do Madam. Now we are just squabbling over quantity. The oldest known verision: “They are telling this of Lord Beaverbrook and a visiting Yankee actress. In a game of hypothetical questions, Beaverbrook asked the lady: ‘Would you live with a stranger if he paid you one million pounds?’ She said she would. ‘And if he paid you five pounds?’ The irate lady fumed: ‘Five pounds. What do you think I am?’ Beaverbrook replied: ‘We’ve already established that. Now we are trying to determine the degree.”

Here's a funny little thing to think about. did Miss Melly or her "speech writer" Rick Roll the GOP last night? Another part of her fun speech “He will never, ever give you up. And most importantly, he will never, ever let you down.” for those that don't know what Rick Rolling is en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rickrolling

So what makes Michelle "the most educated First Lady in history"? Nothing (especially when both her poor grammar and poor spelling, in her Thesis, are taken into consideration).

... I don't know that there is a "most educated 1st lady in history"... but if there is Ms. Obama ain't it. You forgot to add the "BWAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA!!!!!!!" you normally do when you post things like this. Since I already said that earlier, and wasn't necessary to the question I re-posed, I felt it would have been redundant.

Intelligence is overrated. In hiring, in politics, in business. I'll take a man of average intelligence and good character over a brilliant man of questionable character any day of the week, as a boss, as a friend, or as an employee. Perhaps Ms. Trump is a "dumb bunny" as some are claiming. I don't know. Either way, her intelligence isn't a measure of her character or her potential to do good if Mr. Trump is elected to the White House. If she's a plagiarist, that's unfortunate. That's a blight on her character. So, you're OK with her posing naked everywhere? I know you weren't asking me, but... since there's nothing wrong with the human body, and since I think that modesty just for the sake OF modesty is stupid (hey if Person "A" doesn't want to get naked, I have no problem with them not doing so... making it a requirement that no one else can if they would choose to do so... THAT I have a problem with), and since it's something she did in her past that amounted to a big pile of "so what?"... I'm o.k. with it.

RNC prayer: Please, Dear Lord, keep this man away from our convention for the third time in a row. Thank You Jesus.
Mr. Obama wasn't exactly standing tree stump still... I guess it's not possible for them to have been "in the moment with the song"?

He was opining about "character", and being hyper-religious, I suspected he wouldn't be OK with it.

When compared to the writing of other First Ladies when they were 21, one would have to say ... wait, what other examples are we looking at? By the time one is 21, spelling and basic grammar should be second nature. And we could compare it to Hillary's (same degrees, remember? Hillary had a Doctoral Thesis as well).
