Nothing even close to my perfect dog - pork dog wrapped in a corn tortilla and grilled until dog is hot and tortilla is crisp. Criss-cross drizzle with mustard and Mexican crema, side with grilled corn rolled in more crema and chile spices. Add some guacamole to the dog if you dare. And grilled jalapenos if you double-dog dare.

It's gotta be burned on the grill. Splitting open. The bun must be toasted with a nice crisp on it. Then diced onions, Heinz (Simply Heinz only) ketchup, a stripe of mustard and it's amazing.

No no no no no.... Burned and split on a potato roll with sweet relish and brown or Dijon mustard. There's actually a specialty hot dog place in the next town over that has some great dogs. Since I'm broke now I think I'll thaw some turkey kielbasa and fry that up tonight.

Grilled on a toasted bun with mustard and sauerkraut - a basic NY style. My mother used to put potato salad on hers.
I have yet to try a Cuban dog, with the potato sticks, but I plan to next trip to Miami.
What's up with Japan's hot dog? It looks like an octopus.

For a texture eater, the texture of food is roughly as important as its flavour. If a food tastes really good, we can generally enjoy it, but if the taste ranks as "meh" or worse, an unpleasant texture can ruin it entirely. Hotdogs, sausages, etc. have a rather unique texture. The Schneider's wieners are a texture problem for me. I have the same problem with sushi, most varieties of rice, anything gelatinous that isn't extremely tasty, and vegan substitutes for pretty much everything.
