Has begun. 1.He fired his campaign manager yesterday to remove a public perception problem for him. 2.Please pay attention to his speech this morning. We have a different candidate today.

Trump has been in charge the entire time. Firing someone isn't going to fix anything for me.

When he told Paul Ryan he'd tone it down and become more presidential it lasted until he opened his mouth again.

Will Trump address Clinton's religious beliefs? Stay tuned for the hypocrisy.

I may be wrong, but I do not think illegal immigrants from south of the border, Spanish judges, and the Wall, were even referenced today

Maybe he is just working on undecided independents, but they've been on the sidelines for various reasons. I might be wrong, but I do not think he's going to be as successful with this marketing campaign as all that has gotten him to this point.

Listen to the " personal tone inflection" of the speech. He promised he would change strategy. He's promised this a couple times already. I think the most recent time he said he would 'pivot' was when he got rid of the last GOP rival in the primaries - after that it was all about how 'presidential' he would become, now that he was campaigning against Hillary.
I think he sincerely wants to try to change his image, but this may be too late in the game to convince people he's really different now. There's a ton of video clips out there to remind them about all his recent outlandish statements.
The problem for Trump is a good part of his voter base likes the loud, obnoxious Trump who tells it like it is and is an equal opportunity insulter. That's what makes him seem so different and refreshing, especially compared to the usual politician who carefully wordsmiths what he says to avoid offending anyone. If Trump turns into a milk toast, politically correct, prim and proper political candidate, I think his poll numbers will go even lower - at which point Trump will return to the brash, arrogant character that got him this far in the first place and which his core voters love.
Time will tell. The last times he tried to pivot didn't last more than a week, so let's see how he does this time.

This guy likes Trump and in his own words: "For these reasons we are confident that a widespread and creative billboard advertising game plan could go a long way toward making the Rick Tyler For Congress candidacy both viable and a force to be reckoned with. Clearly we are in uncharted waters, in that there has never been a candidacy like this in modern political history. Of great significance, as well, is the reality of the Trump phenomenon and the manner in which he has loosened up the overall spectrum of political discourse."This guy is also running for Tennessee's 3rd District in the U.S. House of Representatives. The sign he finally took down last night: 'Make America White Again': Tenn. congressional candidate's billboard ignites uproarUnfortunately, he will get some votes in the election. Fortunately, he will not win.

Well, poor Steve King won't get his wish to create an amendment to block Harriet Tubman from being on the 20 dollar bill, either. (He even said it was racist or sexist to want a black woman on the 20 dollar bill).
ymam.proboards.com/thread/49710/trump-presidential-campaign-phase?page=1&scrollTo=2494376
Trump may have empowered some people to think it's ok to be openly racist while serving as or campaigning for political office - but fortunately, most of the country disagrees.

His blinded followers don't give one whit whether he is telling the truth or not and he knows it. I think the problem he has, and his followers by extension, is those who are into him are already for him. The undecided and others aren't that into him and are unlikely to become converts. MHO. Your mileage may vary.

I haven't seen any of Trump's speaches or addresses. All I've seen are bits and pieces. Now that he is the "presumptive nominee", I do hope he tones it a bit with all the insults.
After all he had said about the other candidates or the world and public at large, it is kinda hard to imagine him courting the independents. He can't court all republicans from what I see!
I would love to be able to watch one of his latest speeches but there is so much I can laugh every day before the hickups kick in from too much of it!

I did look at this site: heavy.com/news/2016/06/rick-tyler-for-congress-tennessee-make-america-white-again-billboard-congressional-candidate-facebook-photos-campaign-website-whitewater-grill/
I'm almost positive that under #5 all those confederate flags are just about southern pride and in no way relate to any racist make America white again sloganeering.
