I'd like the freedom to not have to see the avatars. Looks like other people beat me to it. The "show avatars" option is indeed under your account preferences when you modify your profile. As for cawiau, kudos to him for losing all that weight. I'm sure it took a lot of hard work and discipline to perform that kind of transformation.

A body building pose bothered someone?? Wow. For the record I thought it was great (and some people think I'm the biggest prude around) It was neat to get a more realistic visual of cawiau. For some reason I always pictured him as scrawny. Don't know why.

I was surprised when I first saw it but then again, I was surprised at the shot of the back. I don't think I would let anything that personal about me get on the internet. No matter how I looked.

I'd have to say that I was kind of surprised about the avatars as well. I thought it was kind of funny, and I would not use an avatar like that. But as later said: being bothered? No. Now that I've seen what's it's all about (a huge weight loss), I understand better.

I gave him karma for his previous avatar. I think it was fantastic!

I think Caiwiau (there, I said it aloud) has changed to a picture of him when he was about six. And he's adorable! Aww.... I think if I lost a lot of weight, I'd be proud of my personal achievement as well. I only want to lose two dress sizes, that's not as momentous as a whole person! Go cawiau!

I have no problem with the avatar either.
I totally agree with Dark. If you work hard to have a nice body it is ok to be proud of it.
I really didn't think Cawiau would have a problem with the thread. I expected him to ignore it or show us the front. Guys are different than women in stuff like this. They are much better at giving each other a hard time.

"Now we've got a shot of said persons whole body from behind. It could be a little more zoomed, but by and large not bad. I can't be the only that wants to see the front now though." I personally find myself wondering if those are really short shorts or panties

OK, I admit thought it was weird when I first saw that avatar. I mentioned that to Cawiau out of concern because I am of a generation that doesn't post personal pix on a public forum. He told me he was a bodybuilder and he had no problem with posting those pix. Fine! I did click on SVT's link, and now I feel badly for having said anything at all, because I agree that Cawiau deserves MAJOR kudos for having lost all that weight and gotten into such great shape. So Carl, all my apologies. Nonetheless, I did disable the avatars because that works better for me, and I appreciate the posts that explained how to do that.

Uh... I have no problem with his avatar. The dude has put in the time to build an impressive physique, show it off buddy, you deserve it! I agree, those are some impressive muscles all right!

Hmm, so if I put a picture of my washboard abs in my avatar, I'm going to receive a bunch of karma? ;D

I think that picture, like a lot of things, is TMI.

meaning he gives pictures and so much info that he or his family could be easily tracked. Not a good idea.

I have to agree with this. I know we'd like to think everyone here is a good, upstanding citizen, but you never really know.
The first pic was just the back, and an impressive back. I'd be proud too if I'd accomplished what cawiau has. But I'd be cautious about pics showing my face and sharing a lot of details about myself and where I live, especially since it's not just me I need to keep safe. But that's just me.
Great work on the bodybuilding though cawiau!
