Should I, or shouldn't I?

I picked "I want dirt to use against you later" because that's inevitably what somebody will wind up doing with the information if you put it out there.

If it's just how many pets you own and your favourite cookie, fine. But I'd be very wary of putting anything weightier than that on the Internetz.

Even innocuous comments can be useful.   If Moon has no pets, the pets are better than people people will eat her lunch.   If Moon's favorite cookie is a black and white (or God forbid an oatmeal raisin) cookie, the chocolate contingency will tar and feather her.    It is not a safe place here.   All information shared should be done so simply to obfuscate  the truth about ourselves to create a shell of protection.

I've been on boards that had "spotlights" some were one random member at a time picked from volunteers, others were a specific subforum where anyone could start a "Spotlight" thread about themselves. Either way the threads were open for all members to ask specifically about the "Spotlighted" member, and the member could choose to answer the questions or not. They were also typically only moderated either by the member themselves or at the request of the member. 100% voluntary participation was the key. Could that be possible here?

I almost mentioned that Richard. I couldn't remember if we're allowed to talk about other boards & was too lazy to go read the COC.

Something like that should be totally up to you(IMO).  So I didn't vote on it because that option wasn't there.  Otherwise I would like to know about you as much as you would like to put out there.  That applies equally to everyone here.

I voted yes. Put out there as much as YOU decide to. You know, little things, like....do you get sent out to a rock in the back yard for dumb jokes? Are you a lefty trying to cope with a world built for righties? Did your dog eat your homework back when you were in school? When you stare into that mirror early Monday mornings, do you catch yourself humming ad jingles from 50 years ago? Let's just say, I for one am happy you created this and that you put up with all of us!

I was VERY careful to not mention any boards by name nor say any positive or negatives about anyone there or about them. I think that was why it didn't trigger a "per CoC removal".

I don't personally mind a general mention of some feature seen elsewhere. What I try to stay away from is anything negative regarding other forums or their members.

Yes I was snowed in for 4 days Christmas 1982.

We lived on a farm close to McKay Lake, we got home Christmas Eve afternoon,  there were some people stuck by my driveway.

Since I had a big 4X4 truck,  I loaded up the people plowed through the snow on the roads, got them home.

Now going back home, the snow is getting really deeper Lots of abandoned cars blocking the road,  I was still able to go them through the ditches,

Now the snow is so deep it pushing over the hood of the truck, get stuck, back up ram the snow go go another hundred foot. I did that several times.

I killed the transmission in the truck.   I am about 1/3 of a mile from the house so I will walk home,  SURE.  the snow on the road is 4 foot deep,

no problem I just go out in to the field where the snow in not so deep,  SURE.

I had a scoop shovel in the back of my truck grabbed only because I didn't want someone to steal it.

Even in the field the snow is so deep that I was having a hard time getting my leg over the snow for another step,  that is when the scoop shovel became a life saver, I do mean a

life saver,  I could put my weight on the shovel to get another step,  I finally get to the house, My lungs are burning from hard breathing of the cold air, I was physically drained. 

I have a layer if ice on my face,  Get my clothes off ,  it was hard like the laces on the boot were frozen. get into a tub of lukewarm water, it feels like it was boiling.

I think how close that I came to not making it!

the neighbor also got stuck, spent three days in his truck before they got him out.

I am fortunate that I know you both on the boards and in real life. I think only you should decide if you want to give more information about yourself than through regular posts. I think members get to know each other through posting and should now a bit about you through the posts you do that aren't moderating. You are a kind, generous, loving person and that is all they really need to know.
