So, on another thread, whoisjohngalt mentioned that because I rarely post, she knows nothing about me. She's correct that I don't, for varying reasons - not sure I should, lack of time (biggie right now), not as much interest.... So, that kind of made me wonder if anyone had any interest in my making a thread on the subject. I thought I had done an 'intro' thread at one point but if I did, it's long buried by now. So, what do you think?

I picked "Meh" not because I'm not interested, but because I think you don't need to put yourself on display. People can get to know you through your posts, just like the rest of us.

I agree wholeheartedly. I don't think you owe us anything. You can post just like the rest of us do and only share what you're comfortable with. I get why you feel the need to kind of keep a distance, but what fun is it going through the hassle of keeping things running if you don't get to participate like everyone else? Like mollyanna said, we'll get to know you through your posts.

Id like to know about you but you have a right to privacy, too.

So, Yes, I would like to know you, but not by you making a thread, but by you simply posting whenever you feel like it!

You did a wonderful thing for us creating this place & maintaining it. You do not owe us your life story. I don't think anyone else put theirs out there on a single thread. With that said, if you feel like making one I would read it.
ETA: I also voted meh for the same reasons listed by others.

I'd be interested in knowing a bit about you, but were I you, I wouldn't post anything I wouldn't put in your local news paper. Privacy is important to some people, and for good reason. I respect that.

I don't need a damn thread cause I already know that Moon is a wonderful, intelligent, creative and very caring kind person.

I voted Yes only because I think it would be nice for you to post more often - when and if you get the time. You are a sweetheart. I think there are things you could share that people would like to know about you that doesn't have to be overly personal or that's none of our business. You know, like your name, weight, social security number, credit card number... things that aren't too personal. Or you can just PM me that info. But please make sure the card numbers work.

I think for me, it serves no purpose for you to put yourself out there. Even as mods, we only know a little about each other, and the same for you.
I try to pick and choose where I post carefully, and seldom post in YM or YMOT. I'm far more comfortable in SS and WIR.
I have a commitment to Moon to do a job as we all do, and being good friends many times just doesn't fit with the jobs we're supposed to do. So now, I wouldn't post anymore than you do now.

I wish there were a fifth choice, placed below 'meh' but a lot more positive than that.

Given the responses above, I believe the correct answer is MEH. However, I am nosey so I voted YES.

Getting caught in the rain? Ach. Now that song is in my head. Next will be the girl that liked that song when it was a hit. Yup, there she is. Ach. I knew I'd get somebody! Sorry. Kind of.

Well I certainly didn't have in mind to share every little detail about myself. Really only the basic stuff that you might reasonably find out from someone when you first meet them in a social situation or you work with them or something. And then, if people wish to ask me questions and I don't think that they're too private then I'd try to answer them.

While your posts may be few and far between, they still show exactly who you are... very clearly (and what they show is that you are a kind and thoughtful person... mostly).
So... for that reason and that reason alone, I voted "meh" as well as others have.
Although: this brings up another thought to my mind. I've been on boards that had "spotlights" some were one random member at a time picked from volunteers, others were a specific subforum where anyone could start a "Spotlight" thread about themselves. Either way the threads were open for all members to ask specifically about the "Spotlighted" member, and the member could choose to answer the questions or not. They were also typically only moderated either by the member themselves or at the request of the member. 100% voluntary participation was the key. Could that be possible here?

Richard, I actually don't agree that my posts reflect well who I am. That's because my personal post count is low in comparison to my mod/ mod-ish posts. That's kind of why I thought about this in the first place.
As far as the question about spotlight threads, I'm sure we could if there were interest in that.
