No clue about the key. But the plot is getting twisty. This is my favorite of the new shows.

Yeah, I have no idea what is going on with the key.
The mother bothers me...not sure I can pinpoint why, she just does. I don't think she is shady or anything but her personality annoys me.

Shows like this one I like to record and binge watch. But I was already recording Madam Secretary and The Good Wife.
Last year I recorded the full season of How to Get Away with murder - this way I wasn't confused.

I actually understand what you are saying. I think she just seems very aloof. And shouldn't she be taking Adam for some sort of counseling?

LOL! Yes, she has used her son's murder and now reappearance to boost her political career...typical politician. I also keep questioning why the family has not taken him to counseling. The night the mother locked the closet so he couldn't sleep in there ...it's like she expects the kid to automatically bounce back after 10 yrs of captivity and abuse. The whole damn family is weird. The only one who seems semi-normal to me is the alcoholic older brother. Also, am I the only one who thinks it is weird the grown children still live at home? I realize it is "the thing to do" these days but I still find it strange.

I didn't really question why they were still at home. I assumed the alcoholic failed to launch & the sister was so far into mom's career that she had no life of her own.

Those are the assumptions I made as well but I think it helps illustrate the dynamics of this family that the parents have never (to our knowledge) insisted the older brother get his ass straightened out. My parents would have been like "your butt is going to have to sober up and get a J.O.B."

Dad chose an affair & revenge, brother chose alcohol & mom & sis chose work.

Yeah, I assume the brother felt the most guilt over Adam's disappearance since he technically was the one responsible for him at the time.

The kid does have counseling. Mother mentioned in one of the episodes "your therapist will be here soon" or something like that.
I don't know why they had to make daughter a lesbian. It's like they have to fill the quota or something.
This show reminds me of Secrets and Lies. I wish it would come back for 2nd season

I really liked seeing Juliet Lewis play the role of the detective. It was different for her and I thought she did a great job. From what I read it was supposed to come back in January but was pushed back for American Crimes (which I was personally unimpressed with). Then they brought Nashville back in that time slot once American Crimes ended. As far as I know Secrets and Lies is supposed to come back for season 2 but as of now there is no date scheduled. The ratings the 1st season were really good and American Crimes ratings were not very good, so I can't understand why they pushed back the premier date of a highly rated show for one with not such good ratings. Networks do the stupidest shit sometimes.

They really do. Instead of being happy with the demographic they have they are always aiming for the younger people.
Secrets and Lies was good. I had forgotten all about it until you mentioned it. I'd watch season2.

I have managed to complete the first episode and will catch up as fast as I can, which means maybe by the end of the season at this rate.

So.....last night kind of explained.....everything??
so, now the only thing left is to catch the guy who took Adam??
that is way too anticlimactic for my taste

I really liked this week's episode. It did explain a lot but I'm sure it isn't going to just wrap up like that.

I enjoyed the show. I would have watched a second season. Oh well.
