This is unacceptable. It's an illustration of the obvious conflict of interest that simply must exist between the government and those agents of the government.
Even if we publicly fund schools, the money should follow the students, and teachers should be employees of private entities that compete for those dollars.
We can't have agents of the government in the classroom.
These particular government agents should be identified and fired.

Wonder if that was during a school day? If I were a parent of one of those kids I would be irate.

Not sure what the issue is here. Is it that the kids are in the rotunda supporting their parents?

I'd be inclined to think the kids belong to the parents who were protesting. If the parents wish to show their kids democracy in action.............

And the parents weren't to keen on that...
(And the song is a Christian song, btw-- they subsituted "the one" for Jesus Christ)

This isn't a school, but it sure is creepy that anyone would let their kids participate (let alone encourage them to)...

Isn't it great that the forums are no longer managed by MSN's rules. You got to know you would never get away with this if they were, Paul. Have you given up on the YM board? Thrown off?? Bored??

The same people who whine about isolated Obama chants and so-called indoctrination are the same people who whine about why prayer was taken out of school so kids nationwide can't be indoctrinated into Christianity.
Of course, you won't hear them complaining when parents drag kids to Tea Party rallies and make them hold political signs they probably don't even understand.

could it be cause it's their parents, and not a public school. and that the parents decided and not some govt paid "administer"?

No.
It's because the kids are being taught something that is anathema to conservative values. If what was being taught coincided with those values, this wouldn't even be an issue, and it certainly wouldn't be called "indoctrination" or "brainwashing."
The fact that it is taking place in a public school is a red herring. The real issue is what they are teaching. If those same government paid administrators were having kids recite the Lord's Prayer in unison or teaching them all how to shoot guns, would any conservative here raise a fuss?
I doubt it.

You're probably right. Which of course is why I'm right about the fact that agents of the government do not belong in schools. Still, it'd be fun to witness the complete meltdown on the left if government run schools were teaching kids to sing songs to our dear leader...Sarah Palin.

This is a rather telling statement since, if this were really about "government agents" in our schools, there should be an equal meltdown if songs were sung to Palin as there would be if songs were sung to Obama.
But we all know this really isn't about that. It's the fact that the songs are being sung to a political figure the conservatives don't like. It's really as simple as that.
Would there be a coniption [sic] fit from the right, as well? Or is this just another argument proving my case for me?
