I notice small increases. Internet went up $3 a month . . . not a huge deal, but now it's $50 a month. The precooked bacon I buy (my husband hates the smell of bacon so this brings it to a minimum) went up 20 cents from last week.
I don't panic over this stuff, but I do adjust. I stocked up on even more toilet paper and paper towels this weekend at CVS. I buy sugar every few weeks if I can find it on sale because my DH uses the equivalent of 4-5 teaspoons in every cup of coffee. I have one of those Rubbermaid totes (didn't buy it for the sugar) that I use for storage.

We pay 10% sales tax in many parts of Alabama. The difference is whether you have to also pay a county tax. This is in addition to a state income tax and a county occupational tax. The one that is about to get me is that the county, which is pretty much bankrupt, is in a mess over its sewer system. The court has appointed a receiver who has repeatedly talked about assessing a non-user fee on people who have a septic system instead. It's not like they asked, "Which would you prefer--to be connected to the sewer system or have a septic tank that you alone are responsible for maintaining?" The sewer is for the pricey subdivisions, not those in rural areas. It would cost too much to hook us up, but we should pay for both services, anyway. Grrr . . . sorry that this developed into a rant.
