NAT short, Nordic American Tanker, an oil transportation company.  The stock has been on a long slide since the oil glut.

Well, if I don't short a stock next week in this contest .... you'all can tell me, with a straight face:
    " We knew you were crazy !!!"
On the Dow point and figure chart (Stockcharts) .... they had this comment:
    "Spread Triple Bottom Breakdown on 08-Feb-2016"
And BigCharts had NYSE with 645 advances; 2,524 declines.  Only 53  52-week highs/  446 lows.
Nasdaq with only 9   52-week highs/  535  52-wk. lows.

My problem is that although I can short here, I can't IRL.

Lowered limit order on BAC which just broke 52 wk lows. It's still searching for a bottom as is the rest of the market. Put in for 1000 shares SCHB @ 25% below 2015 highs GTC. That's it for the day but wondering if we're headed for 25% or 28% drop?

We need to correct. My personal problem is that I pulled 100k out over the last 12 months due to family:
♤ 50K so DS could get a house on a huge lot turned into mini farm
♡ 10k so DD could get a mfg house
◇ 10k bc her car died and it would take more to fix it than it was worth
♧ 15k family vacation - last one b4 GK#7
☆ 10k to DS matching DD car
■ 5k GS1 horn / college
And I sold to get it. But as dear ol dad would say, it's just money

The markets are still choppy.  Green side so far today; but, can they stay?  So many "ifs" surrounding things going on worldwise.  So many risks to consider.  We are still not into a confirmed true classic bear market yet (about 10% more to fall).  Looks like we are caught between and rock and a hard place for the time being...sort of a "damned if you do" vs "damned if you don't" situation.  Bull and bear traps are all around, set to snap.

2:45 PM EST:  Oops! the Dow just dipped a bit into the red!  Drat!

4:30 PM EST:  Good golly, Miss Molly...Sinking again!  So be it!  Ride out the storm!

Ombud, not calling that number, but believe it's not out of the range of possibility under a prolonged bear market; say, 6 months to a year ahead.  Just do not foresee any catalyst to send the markets in to a full bull mood anytime in 2016.  Just being wary of current conditions and potential weakening affects upon the markets.
