Phone interview today went well. HR person I spoke to said she had a few more calls to make, but she expected I would be one of the people she would be bringing in for an in person interview. I should hear from her next week to get something on the schedule for the following week.

You're doing so great but I'm a little scared it's going to take me forever to find a job up there (since it's taking you so long even with your great resume and skills and I don't have anything close to your experience).

This post is mostly to help me keep track of where I am, interview wise, since this has been a crazy time frame for it.
Week of 8/18 (last week): 4 first round interviews HR Analyst/County: not moving forward Business Systems Analyst/Health care start up: second round interview scheduled Assoc Dean, School of Business/University: chose a different candidate Content Operations Manager/Amazon: second round interview scheduled
Week of 8/25 (this week): 5 first round interviews Sr Financial Analyst/Real estate management: screening, the HR person seemed to think the hiring manager definitely wanted to talk to me. If I don't hear by mid-next week, call it a loss Senior Business Consultant/Open interview Tableau: not moving forward (this is a guess, but their timeline was to let people know by today, and I haven't heard anything) Business Process Analyst/Old company: long shot. still in timeline to hear back, but my guess is hiring manager wants slightly different skill set Manager of Business Operations, Pathology/University: the hiring manager was really excited to talk to me (and worked around my injury related delay), expect to hear more next week Executive Assistant/Biomedical research: the HR person basically said she was planning on bringing me in for an in-person. expect to officially get that scheduled next week
Week of 9/1 (next week): 1 first round, 2 second round interviews scheduled Director of Operations/Dental practice: 1st round, phone call scheduled for Tuesday morning Content Operations Manager/Amazon: 2nd round, phone call scheduled for later Tuesday morning Business Systems Analyst/Health care start up: 2nd round, in person scheduled for late Wednesday morning

I have never been rejected for a job i had a second interview for. I hope that will be the case for you. It seems a second interview is only scheduled when they are really, really interested so chances of getting the job are very high i think. In any case, you are doing wonderful from your attitude to success in getting interviews. You must have an impressive resume. I hope you get an offer in the next 2 weeks (that you like of course).

@bunnysmom - I was the runner up candidate for a position I had 4 interviews with. Also did not get a position where I made it through 3 rounds of interviews. One of my second interviews is still a phone interview (Amazon), which is standard for them- no in person interviews until at least the 3rd round.

First phone interview of the morning went well. I should expect an email later today or tomorrow letting me know if I make it to the next round. 2nd round will be next week (in person with this person), 3rd round would be the week after (in person with the dentists).
Still have the 2nd interview with Amazon coming up in just over an hour.
Also, I need to figure out what I am wearing to my interview tomorrow- specifically, the shoes. My ankle is still pretty swollen, I am still wrapping it, and I am limping (there are just certain ways my ankle doesn't want to bend), but I don't think the hiking boots I've been wearing out and about are going to cut it for an interview.

Wear the highest spiky heels you can, it will be worth it. No pain no gain! (In seriousness, I'm glad you don't need to be on crutches, that ankle looked awful )

Have any dress boots? If it were me, I'd be tempted to wear my paddock boots ( After they'd been cleaned and polished)

Amazon phone interview went alright- not the strongest I've felt after an interview, but still good. The hiring manager isn't on any specific timeline, just looking for the right candidate. I should know more within two days, per the Amazon HR guidelines. CarolinaKat - my only boots have a bit of a heel, which I kind of want to avoid. They are also brown, so I won't wear them with black or grey slacks, and none of my brown/beige slacks work with my more business formal tops... except I just bought a blazer that's navy & white, that might work well with my dark brown slacks.... Likely, I'll go with one pair of shoes for getting to/from, and put a pair of shoes in the car to change into for the interview- almost certainly the ballet flats, as they will fit around the ace bandage better than most of my others.

shanendoah - I would go the other way - go rent crutches and get a full boot. then you dont have to worry about shoes!

Pants - The doctor at Urgent Care did offer me crutches, but he also said I should be up on it as soon as possible. Apparently, with sprains, you heal better if you don't stay completely off the ankle. Firebird- those were the 24 hours later pictures. I didn't post pictures from 36 hours later, but it got even uglier as more bruising became apparent. (There's a big bruise, not in the pics, right under my three middle toes.) And then I got a call from the recruiter I spoke to at the career fair (from old company, for a different position), with a couple questions the hiring manager had concerns about. She'll be talking to the hiring manager again tomorrow.

Again, I repeat, the hardest part of all this positive activity is maintaining the drive to apply for more positions. Today is the day I force myself to get that done.

Phone call about the Business Operations Manager position with the medication management start-up. They really are looking for someone who can do this part time, likely around a full time job. The hope is that the person who takes this on will grow into being an equity partner. I've got a meeting with the founder on Monday. But I'll talk to C about it today. I think this is something I am going to try and pursue, while getting a full time job. Chance to be in on a ground floor level is an opportunity that doesn't come along every day.

Current pet peeve: recruiters for contract positions who say "when are you available for a phone call?" and I either give them a time, or sometimes we even set the time, and then I never hear from them.
Current Status Update: Week of 8/25: CALLING THIS ENTIRE WEEK A LOSS. The only one I have heard back on was to hear that I did not get the job. 5 first round interviews
Sr Financial Analyst/Real estate management: have heard nothing Senior Business Consultant/Open interview Tableau: have heard nothing Business Process Analyst/Old company: did not get the position Manager of Business Operations, Pathology/University: have heard nothing Executive Assistant/Biomedical research: have heard nothing
Week of 9/1: 1 first round, 2 second round interviews scheduled Director of Operations/Dental practice: 2nd round interview scheduled
Content Operations Manager/Amazon: 2nd round phone have not heard back from the recruiter, calling it a loss Business Systems Analyst/Health care start up: in person interview went very well. asked for references, decision making in a couple of weeks, HR person will be in contact before then Business Operations Manager/Medication management start-up: phone call on Thursday with the recruiter to get more information prior to interview following week
Week of 9/8: Director of Operations/Dental practice: 2nd round, in-person interview set for Monday early afternoon. There will be at least 3 round of interviews Business Operations Manager/Medication management start-up: in-person interview set for early Monday evening
Week of 9/15: Administrator, HCDE/University: 1st round, in person interview scheduled for Monday morning

Okay, here is my depressing update Just got an official rejection letter from HR about a post that I went second round interviews for in June. I already know that I didn't get it, but getting the letter stung anyway. Everything that I applied for in July and August, I have not heard back from except for one. For that post, I've gone through two phone interviews and the recruiter will let me know soon whether I go on to the face-to-face interviews. I am currently re-vamping my resume and cover letter. This can't go on.

I always hate that official rejection letter, at least if it comes a long time after I applied. If they let me know they aren't considering me within a few weeks of my application, well, it still sucks, but I can appreciate it more than if they wait 3+ months to send me the letter.

The first of today's interviews went very well. There is a 95% chance I made it through to the 3rd round. I give it a 5% chance I did not simply because I do not actually have a time for an interview next Monday evening, but the recruiter checked that I was available next Monday evening (she's trying not to take the dentists out during practice hours) and said she would be in touch with a time.

Have not heard on a time yet from the recruiter from yesterday morning. I did send her a thank you email this morning, but maybe revising down my chances of the third round interview.
Talked with the person from the start-up medicine therapy management last night. He figures that the person he brings on could do this around a full time job for maybe the next year, but after that, they would need to be working on his position full time. He could start paying then, but more of a token salary and stock options for partnership, with real pay coming about 6 months after that. Still mulling it and talking to C about it, but I think it may not be right for me right now, but I'll keep in touch with him, and maybe something will come of it eventually.
Got an email from the start-up health care company today. They want me in for a 3rd round, situational interview this Thursday morning. Basically, they'll give me a business situation and have me walk them through my process for handling it.
