Good point - maybe there is a reason people are chased off - something for me to contemplate. Thx!

I'm going to put this in really abstract terms: while C may be completely justified, it doesn't mean that A and B weren't ill-advised (and fore-warned via YM), but since things worked out, you could probably get away with D or E. The problem is, you go for D and E instead of just choosing one or the other, and are now wondering why people object when you start talking about adding F to the mix.

Pay off your debt and don't buy any more purses. You just spent a ton of money for Valentine's Day. Who is she/you trying to impress? What's impressive is no cc debt. Then save that money toward a car. Maybe even pay for one in cash and have no payment or make a large down payment and get it paid off faster. You don't have to spend everything you make. Those bonuses were just that, extra money. Put it on debt and be grateful you can.

Why would he pay cash if he gets 0% financing?

Maybe it is partially my fault and I need to pull a Drama and stop posting stuff about us.
Cool I've made it to catch phrase status! I encouraged DH to reach out to a couple of companies he's applied with to see what is going on with the positions. I said it may not lead anywhere but it certainly doesn't hurt either. I also encouraged him to call ConAgra again, no clue what is going on there the profile says they are reviewing resumes. IDK if she flaked or they changed their minds on DH or what. I told him you deserve to know what is going on so try again. Another job with Jack Links popped up. This one looks like it is a notch or two above the one he applied for previously it is a QA auditor instead of a QA tech. I asked him to at least ponder the idea though I understand if he doesn't want to try again. He thinks he burned a bridge by not taking that first job. I disagreed I said it wasn't like you told them "Hell no mofos! Ain't nobody got time for that!" I said it was understandable you turned down a position for $13/hr with a 12 hour shift. BUT things have now changed and this sounds like a position better suited to your skill set. They may still be interested in you but you won't know unless you apply. He didn't get the fisheries technician job, got that email before I left work.

Why would he pay cash if he gets 0% financing? Because at some point you have spent the same $500 about 200 times and then you find youself trying to figure out how to save $5 on your cable bill becuase you have a cash flow problem.

About a month ago, I randomly sent my resume in for a VERY COOL job. It would really take me out of my comfort zone, though I certainly am qualified for it. It would be about a half step up from what I do now. Anyway, I'd basically forgotten I'd applied for it, and this morning I got an email that they want to do a skype interview next week. I'm pretty excited. I still think it's a reach, and I'd be very surprised if it goes beyond the skype interview. But, I'm going to do the interview and try not to appear awestuck that they even read my resume, let alone scheduled an interview

Well I wonder how many mistakes I can make and not be "busy enough" before they fire me. I had 17 pups downstairs everything going great. Checked on them last night before going home and everything was fine. Didn't check this morning taking for granted the pups were almost 72 hours old, thawed cells to humanize. Every single one of them was freaking dead. So got a post doc pissed at me and I got a lecture about being careful with the mice from my PI. Sitting down for a minute before I go back downstairs I got to catalog how many older mice I got that I don't need anymore.

I just got a message on LinkedIn asking if I would be interested in an opportunity with a global insurance company. The pay for said position would be $75K base. Um, yes! I asked how soon we can talk. I really hope it's something good.

Got a down and dirty resume done. Next up 1. Need to swap verbs in resume with job function. 2. need to crop old jobs down to tasks suitable for position I'm going for. 3. Build chart showing projects that demo what they're looking for 4. Wait for transcripts to arrive. 5. Submit resume.

Thanks! The kids are amusing themselves so I'm gonna play with it a bit. I know I can knock out the resume in the time I have left but the online submission says resume with no transcripts is considered incomplete. Even though it's an internal people only round.

Ok, I used to work part time for my company, back when I was 17. At 23, I went fulltime. The fulltime job encompassed the same duties as the parttime, plus more. Should I drop the parttime job or consolidate it with the fulltime?
The parttime was 1987-1993. The fulltime was 1993-1997.
I'm still with them, I've just been promoted several times and the parttime was originally on there as a way to show loyalty and a track record of work, learn the job, get promoted.
My resume is currently running 1.75 pages and it needs to be tightened.

Most of the first page is the job duties for the two jobs I've had at my current dept. There's not a lot I want to trim on those. Better phrasing and maybe some consolidating, yes. My current boss was hired in 2010 but didn't really get here until late 2012 and she doesn't really know much about what I currently do and how I do it. Or what I've done in the past in this dept.

Does anyone know if you can rollover a pension into a new 401k?
Got my pension papers from my job and some of the options are: - cash it out and get $9,897 minus 20% - roll it over
I wonder if I can roll it over to my new 401k or is the IRA the only way to go?
Not bad considering I did not save one penny of that money!

Wisconsin Beth - I would only provide details for jobs held in the last 10 years, so I would start with whatever position you had in 2006. You can have an "other experience" section where you list the part time work and the previous positions held at the company. Additionally, you could do something like this
This way, you show that you have been with the company for 30 years, but only provide job duties/relevant skills from the jobs held within the last 10 years.

It's an important experiment and rotten luck. I took for granted they were okay last night. I have no idea what happened between four PM and 9 am today that resulted in them killing their pups. From now on I'll check before I thaw cells. It's an extra trip downstairs but not the end of the world. Can't contol if they eat them after inject them. Here's hoping. I'm just burnt out. Need to go thru my calendar and see what would be a good day to take off. We got $65 in credit card rewards. I know it should go into savings but DH suggested I use it to get my hair cut and colored at the beauty school. I need to take a day off before I do or say something I regret. I have a dental appt on the 29th that would be a good day to take off. Ready made reason.

You are going to be limited to those investment choices made by your employer.

I don't know if anyone is reading this..
How do you handle a paragraph describing why you want a job, when you are mostly "overqualified" for said job?
There's a small part time that I wouldn't mind applying for. Hours are perfect. Pay is OK. It's legal tender, so that's good enough.
So, I've always been interested in book keeping, and last year took a Quickbooks class for the job I got restructured from. I'd like to try using these skills, and this part time job I found would be perfect for it.
But, well, that's not a whole paragraph. I probably can't say that I'm applying because more money would be useful.
Suggestions?

Something about having to learn it for X job and realizing how much you enjoy doing it and looking for a longterm chance to use it.

Otherwise, find Ratchet's thread on interview questions. He got a great answer about being over qualified for a job he's going to interview at.
