I must admit, having seen the title of this thread, then finding the opening post deleted, gave me a giggle this morning. Next time, marshabar, when you really mess it up ... delete the thread title, as well.

Yes I watch the news. 110315-N-5503T-047 PACIFIC OCEAN (March 15, 2011) Sailors load food and water onto an HH-60H Sea Hawk helicopter assigned to the Black Knights of Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron (HS) 4 on the flight deck of the aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). Ronald Reagan is underway off the coast of Japan conducting humanitarian assistance operations as directed in support of Operation Tomodachi. My God! Don't you people watch the news? Disgusting. It would help if you hadn't deleted the OP. Maybe you could provide a link or two explaining your outrage.

I read the news, primarily, as I'm not a fan of television. There have been plenty of food drops, and food/necessity distribution. It would seem it might just be you who isn't aware, marshabar.

www.flickr.com/photos/usnavy/5530139349/There is, of course, the radiation to consider. Some areas aren't allowing air traffic at a low enough level to drop food supplies in for the people. Roads are out. Ports are out. Getting food to these people is a biiiig problem, and right now the Japanese are doing everything they can (remember those reactors?) to keep it from getting worse! The Japanese keep a huge excess of rice supplies, as well. They've got the food. Getting it to some areas is a problem, for numerous reasons.
