We just took our Christmas stuff (tree, decos, lights) down last night. It only took an hour, and that included fitting everything back into the storage room properly. Why we waited so long is beyond me. This means, of course, that I earned tonight off, so I plan to sit in my chair, sip some wine, and read/play games. Instead of doing the floors like I should

I have not done much at all. I am still waiting to get the things for my brother out of my place and into his new one. I can only deal with a few piles of mess at a time. So I am waiting until it will only be my mess. I just wish he would call so I had a timeline on when the items will be out of my house.

I've got the January BLAHS, can't wait till January is finally over. I'm trying to figure out how to plan my new bedroom furniture into my bedroom. This could take all year. lol

I love the new kitchen and the pretty cat.
I am an expert at slacking. I had decided to go through my closets as my first priority for the new year. It's January 27 and I haven't started.
Need I say more.

I've been carrying around stuff to donate for weeks now. The drop off isn't all that far from home. I'm really good at this slacking thing.

I've been carrying around stuff to donate for weeks now. The drop off isn't all that far from home. I'm really good at this slacking thing. Yeah, I have a few bags of stuff for donation sitting in the corner of the guest room. I need to get off my backside and drive them down to Goodwill.
On the positive side, I FINALLY (after almost 3 months of looking off and on) found someone to do a small but much needed repair on a piece of furniture (every other person or company I contacted wanted to do a complete overhall/refurbishing to the tune of 2-3x times the value of the piece.)
DH and I are driving it over to him tomorrow morning, finally.

As a born slacker (according to my mom I was weeks late) I have to say something that goes against the grain: since you plan to move before your little bean is born, it would be useful to go through your clothes carefully before putting them away. Less to pack/unpack! Oh yeah, I will absolutely be going through it all as I put it away! I really don't want to have to bring stuff we'll just get rid of anyway so I expect to be making a trip(s) to the consignment store and/or the donation bin at the school up the street. Even though sometimes I get upset getting rid of clothes once I do, it feels so good! And edit to add.... got nothing done last night. lol did a load of laundry then sat on my ass all night and went to bed at 9:30. I need to go through clothes too. We have a miniscule closet and the rest won't fit in my dresser. I don't want to take it all with me if/when we buy a house this year. In my defense, some of the drawers are full with other peoples stuff (ahem - DH) so there isn't room for my stuff. Whenever I think about it, it reminds me of this book I had growing up. I'll see if I can find it on Amazon. www.amazon.com/Ernie-Bert-Book-Joe-Mathieu/dp/0307100723/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1454099566&sr=8-1&keywords=bert+and+ernie+book

So, there was that one really motivated day where I got a bunch of stuff done. Then... Nothing. Bare maintenance. The dryer broke (still under warranty so free fix, thank the goddess) so there's freaking laundry everywhere. It was fixed two days ago, but we're sill playing catch up. DD has laundry drying on hangers on the dining room chairs. I can see them from here Take that stuff to your room already! I've been sick, this horrible winter cold going around. Then there's the whole work is in transition/sucks again. Plus I don't want to... So, yep. I'm slackin'.

I'm still waiting for the IDIOT to call me. I would like the stuff out of my place but I refuse to hold his hand and act like a parent with a toddler. He's frickin 45 years old!
I am willing to assist but I refuse to take responsibility on this.

You could be extra hateful and just chunk his stuff in a mini storage and put his name and address on the bill. (around here there's a lot of them you just fill out a card and mail to the owner, or used to be last time I got one)

If there are any items of yours here that you would like to keep, please come by and pick them up by that date. I will assume that anything you have not picked up is trash and it will be treated as such,

He finally has a place to move into but it's not until the second week of March. Which is fine at least I now have a date and can look forward to March being a acceptable start to cleaning up. It's always hard to know what the state is going to do or say.

We took all of my dad's business records back in 2013 when he died and stored them in my shed. I really need to start shredding them. They go all the way back to 1990. I should call around and see what it would cost me to have someone else shred it for me or have a big bonfire.

I know the UPS stores do shredding but I have no idea on the cost. Just a starting point for you. I've been slacking on showing up here, do I get a special prize?

I bought drawer dividers in January. They are still sitting in the box. Where's my medal, lol?

We bought stuff hang some posters on our walls as well as to hang a white board that my DH thinks he's going to use (I'm skeptical). Anyway, we bought this stuff about 6 weeks ago. It's still sitting next to the things we want to hang, which are still sitting on a random table. We'd like to re-purpose the table, but can't until we hang this stuff. Someday....

So the guy to put in the new walkway & sprinkler system was supposed to be here 9:30 yesterday ... called at 10 saying he forgot to look at his calendar. Rescheduled for Tuesday afternoon. Guess I won't be done with the front this month
And then there's the 2 pictures to hang in the music room which have been on the dining room table for over a month now

I loaded up all my ex's stuff into an old motor home of his and left it in a Walmart parking lot, then sent him a text saying the keys were over the visor so he'd better hurry and get it before someone stole all his stuff.

Yesterday I sat on the couch with DH, 3 of the 4 cats (the other one preferred a sunny window) and a knitting project and watched the Downton Abbey Season 6 marathon on my local PBS station. The whole season except for the finale, which has not aired yet in our area.
11-1/2 hours total, with brief station switchovers during the pledge breaks to see what was going on at the Oscars.
Two days ago I started knitting a baby blanket for an upcoming shower, and now it's almost done .
I was such a slacker that I didn't even get up to make dinner. DH did it at one of the pledge breaks.
Win!

I bought drawer dividers in January. They are still sitting in the box. Where's my medal, lol? I bought new shelf lining about the same time. Your medal is sitting next to mine. However, while I was gone to the grocery store, DH hung the replacement blind that we bought the week before. That was a pleasant surprise. I hate doing projects like that with him. He is a foot taller than I am so I have to stand on a step stool to help.

I've done really well the last two days! I got rid of a computer I no longer wanted by giving it to my sister and a very small television she gave me that I don't want by giving it to a friend who is moving in to a new apartment and is in need of a tv! Feels great to have those two things gone. Does that mean I can slack some more?

I have picked up 11 huge bags of pine cones and sticks over the past couple of weeks.
How does that make me a slacker? Well, there are at least four or five more bags of them out there. And I still only picked up one bag this afternoon because I had to pick the dog up from grooming.
I cannot wait to be finished with this project.

On the side note - all of a sudden I am drowning in dirty laundry. I don't know why I have so much laundry now, where it's coming from and where all the clean stuff are going! My children certainly didn't become neat freaks recently!

I have things I need and want to do but no motivation right now. I'm going to start a list so every once in a while if I get a wild hair I can cross 1 or 2 items off at a time.
