We'll have been here for two days. Food is outrageously decadent but did a quick weight circuit yesterday and swam this morning. As long as I can keep moving I think I can mitigate food damage.

Last month they took my blood pressure at my chiros office and it was super high... 142 over 80 something. Highest i have ever seen it. Which was weird... first high reading i had in a year. However it was also the same day that i was giving notice at work and my pulse was high and i was having some anxiety. Fast forward to yesterday and i go back to the chiro... anxious about my BP. And OMG it was 152/90 something. I almost had an anxiety attack and was convinced that i was about to have a stroke.
They retook my BP after my adjustment and after i tried to will my anxiety away and it was 136/90.
I am freaking out. I had a string of time when my BP was in the 130s over 80s... but once i cut out those foods that i am sensitive to and dropped a few pounds, BP promptly droppes. And hung around 120/70 consistently for months.
I realize that i am up about 12 pounds in the last 6 months... i get that could be it, but i used to be 30+lbs higher and my BP was never like this.
I guess the insane stress of the last 4 months could have made a difference. Hating my old job, DH quitting his, freaking about finances, job hunting, fur beast having surgery, starting new job, etc. I have another appointment in a month and my BP will be checked then. And if it is high, i will need to see an MD. I do NOT want to take meds for this so i have GOT to get it down. Any suggestions???

sarcasticgirl I am sure you already do this -- reduce your salt intake. Work on losing weight. Reduce stress. How is the new job? How is your husband's job search progressing?

I do like salty snacks. The new job is going well... we are finally getting some breathing room in our budget. DH is sticking with his job on the boats for the summer so he isnt job hunting. He will start again soon when the season starts winding down. His mental and physical health have improved so much in just a short time. I cant argue with letting him continue, especially since the increase i recieved with the new job will actually give us a little extra for savings. Weekly Checkin
I thought last week was bad. This weeks step total was lower, so low that my sister with 2 bad knees had more steps. Eating habits were very bad, too much salt. Did not do well on my water. Had something to do everyday after work. This week I am still going to aim for 80000 steps. I do not have any planned activity tonight. I am hoping to get my grass mowed tonight.

DH used to have high BP at the Dr. office and knowing he was nervous they suggested he check at home. He gets nervous going in the room, I have no idea why because he has no health problems. So for a while he monitored at home and noticed it was consistently normal and that actually calmed him down for going into the office. When he went last year he finally got a normal reading in a exam room.
The first time could have been job stress related and your 2nd time could have been stress over possibly seeing a high number.

Had 75k steps last week.
Goals for this week are to bring lunch 4/5 days, walk all 5 days at lunch and do some sort of weights or something at least two days.
I've been consistent with getting 10k steps a day so I need to add more. I also need to work on my water intake.

I missed a couple weeks here, so updating now. Didn't quite get down 10 lbs. before my beach vacation, but somehow I am currently. (The beach vacation being a dieter's nightmare--booze and snacks/goodies spread out on tables in the shared screened-in porch of the cottage we stayed at, beckoning each time you walk by.) Apparently, my whole family has gotten hand foot and mouth disease from my youngest, who probably picked it up at daycare. I haven't exercised since Wednesday, and that one I trudged through, not realizing I was actually sick and about to feel much worse. Ironically, my weight seems to drop more after a day off from exercising than from anything else.
Intermediate goal: 154 #, 24.9 BMI, 34.0% body fat, 47% body water, 34" waist
BIG goal: 127#, 20 BMI, 30 % body fat, 50% body water, 26" waist

My exercise has consisted only of running, hiking and stationary bike. Yesterday I figured I'd throw in the 7 minute workout. How hard could it be? Never mind the fact that I can't do more than one push up even if my life depended on it.
Sitting at my desk today and wondering why my stomach is so sore. Duh, crunches and planks! My abs are screaming at me that I've been sorely neglecting them and they're not happy to be woken up. I guess the bright side is that with all of the running, my legs were fine with the workout.

Lately my clothes had been two sizes too small for me. I just got to the point that they are only one size too small. Yay! I'm hoping to lose two more sizes and make them one size too big. I love being curvy, so skinny is not what I'm going for. I just want to be a decent weight and in better shape.

The shorter you are, the fewer lbs equal one dress size.

Hi ladies! Last week wasn't too great... better than it has been, so baby steps, I guess. I just realized that I am just under 3 months away from my euro trip! Which means, I have 3 months to drop the 12ish pounds I gained this winter so that my clothes fit well again! I would love to drop another 5 on top of that... but that would likely mean having to buy smaller pants...unless the drop comes from my upper body, which would be ideal!
Goals are the same... 10k steps 5 days Core and plank x3 Yoga x1

Littler women have it "easier" on the way down - you have to lose fewer pounds to drop sizes. But on the other hand, you have to gain fewer pounds to increase sizes on the way up. I was just sharing trivia.

Took today off to take care of stuff that piled up while I was gone. Opted for a workout over a nap, did 30 minutes of weights in the basement. Did it as a circuit, so v little rest time in between exercises. Still shaking, drinking a Gatorade to recover. Tomorrow I will do my post-work-trip weigh in. I tried to move as much as possible while there, but was altitude sick a lot so it was a challenge. If I gained less than 5 lbs I'll be happy.

It was such a nice holiday weekend, weather wise, that I was able to get a lot of movement out doors this weekend. Which was nice. What was not nice was how I ate! My DH talked me into making brownies, plus we had 2 cinnamon rolls left over from a work thing on Friday, plus DH wanted ribs yesterday. Oh, and let's not forget the McDonald's that we had while out and about for a quick snack that was really a 4th meal!! Good thing I snacked on carrots yesterday?? And the brownies are now mostly gone, so there's that

Altitude sickness for the win - I'm the same weight I was when I left for my trip! (just kidding altitude sickness was awful but also I'm glad I didn't gain a ton of weight.) Even better, I'm reunited with the love of my life: Deskbike. If only my hamstrings weren't so sore from yesterday...

Not sure why my weight's been dropping like a rock the last few days, but I'll take it! Eased up on the exercising, yoga & diet a bit, and this is what happens. Down nearly 4 lbs. this week. Getting very close to officially not being overweight! Still, I thought I'd have more energy, but I don't feel like I do. Maybe because my DH has been sick, and he does a lot around the house that I've picked up. Maybe the constant busyness trumps the big workouts? I've also had a few diet cheats, though small amounts, and didn't suffer any ill effects from it. Guess 1/2 serving of Cheetoes or Doritos isn't going to derail me. I think a break every once in a while is good, as long as you start back up. We're taking this week off from the routine. Back to it Sunday night hopefully.

This guy tried to do zumba with us ladies tonight. He didn't last 5 minutes. Every now and again a guy tries it. They never come back for a second round. And this is the substitute teacher for while the other one is on vacation. The regular instructor's class is way harder.

10k steps done Stretching done
Food was a shit show today. I had bread at both breakfast and lunch, eggs at breakfast and cheese at lunch. Both meals out. I am going to feel awful tomorrow. Good news is that i have my food for tomorrow already packed and ready. And hopefully i can keep it extra light to combat today.

I have exactly 3 pairs of size 14 pants... they were the "smaller" 14s that i could still wear as i started wearing 12s. This week I have given in and broken them out. I only have 2 or 3 pairs of 12s that still fit all others are too tight.
I am trying to use this as motivation instead of just being angry at myself.
