And parties. *Sigh* www.whitehousedossier.com/2011/03/15/president-obamas-trivial-pursuits-2/The Middle East is afire with rebellion, Japan is imploding from an earthquake, and the battle of the budget is on in the United States, but none of this seems to be deterring President Obama from a heavy schedule of childish distractions. The newly installed tandem of White House Chief of Staff William Daley and Senior Adviser David Plouffe were supposed to impart a new sense of discipline and purpose to the White House. Instead, they are permitting him to showcase himself as a poorly focused leader who has his priorities backward. This morning, as Japan’s nuclear crisis enters a potentially catastrophic phase, we are told that Obama is videotaping his NCAA tournament picks and that we’ll be able to tune into ESPN Wednesday to find out who he likes. Saturday, he made his 61st outing to the golf course as president, and got back to the White House with just enough time for a quick shower before heading out to party with Washington’s elite journalists at the annual Gridiron Dinner. With various urgencies swirling about him, Saturday’s weekly videotaped presidential address focusing on “Women’s History Month” seemed bizarrely out of touch. Obama Friday took time out to honor the 2009-10 Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks. Thursday was a White House conference on bullying – not a bad idea perhaps, but not quite Leader of the Free World stuff either. Obama appeared a little sleepy as he weighed in against the bullies, perhaps because he’d spent the night before partying with lawmakers as they took in a Chicago Bulls vs. Charlotte Bobcats game.

and W stayed on vacation during Hurricane Katrina. your point is...? if you really think there's anything that either of them could have done personally by being in the White House, please elaborate.

Come on, guys. Give POTUS O a break. All of these non decisions take a toll on a liberal POTUS, you know. A man's gotta play, right? Global community organizing is hard work.

Exactly. This is more of the same crap that we heard about bush after 9/11 or Katrina. Both sides like to pull the same shit out, but then cry foul if the other side does the same. Stupid. I'm sure the presidents schedule is appropriately filled with meetings & phone calls regarding all the situations going on right now. To expect that he does absolutely nothing else with his time & cancels all pre-planned events is ridiculous.

The only thing that annoys me is the lack of major media coverage showing this. Wasn't a problem showing the previous presidents gaffes. It was done continuously, even movies. (Michael Moore anyone)

Liberal media could care less what a POTUS does, as long as he is liberal. Just like lib media does not care about that liberal clown that just trashed the Koran.

Bush was actually much more involved and engaged in Katrina than he is ever given credit for - such as calling the mayor of NO and the governors of the gulf states and encouraging them to evacuate before the hurricane struck - and had the CG and Navy standing by and them responding quickly after the disaster hit. Neither of which is ever acknowledge by the left.

While the world panics, Obama focuses on sportsRead more: notmsnmoney.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=politics&action=display&thread=4782#ixzz1Ggz5lSf9Why not what else can he focus on? His re election campaign?? Attending more fund raising dinners with the Liberal Elite?? Don't forget he doesn't have Nancy Pelosi anymore as the Speaker of the House telling him what she wants him to focus on and Harry Reid is no longer one of his close advisors. Ole Harry thinks Obama has been AWOL from the Budget Proposal Process for last year and this year.

I applaud the President's efforts to further the game of golf. Golf has had some rough times in the last few years with the overbuilding of golf courses, the drifting away of some young golfers from the sport, and even the TW fiasco dampening revenues at the professional level
What an idiotic game.

Imperial Presidency is a term that became popular in the 1960s and that served as the title of a 1973 volume by historian Arthur M. Schlesinger, Jr. to describe the modern presidency of the United States. The author wrote The Imperial Presidency out of two concerns; first that the US Presidency was out of control and second that the Presidency had exceeded the constitutional limits.[1]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Imperial_Presidency I think President Obama is doing fine.

Golf is a game of the highest caliber sir, second to none in it's requirements for athletic ability, grace, calm under pressure and civility all at the same time. Indeed, no finer game has ever been conceived, and I am somewhat curious as to whether man was put on this earth simply for the sole purpose of playing golfI was put on earth for the simple purpose of making love to every single woman on the planet...

You do realize you're talking about a game created by a couple drunk, angry, white dudes wearin' skirts and beating a white ball around a green pasture with a stick (hence the moniker pasture pool) which was probably broken off the drunk angry skirt wearin' dudes bagpipe by Drunk angry, skirt wearin dudes wife, which is probably what made him angry to begin with, because he was drunk at 7am.

We still have two feet of snow on the ground. Last year I was playing golf by now! (last year was waaay early though) We've still got some snow, but the courses should open in about a month.

I'd rather play golf than screw you. That is interesting, because I do not have a "type", and the feeling is mutual... However, that's not exactly a slam because I'm an avid golfer.

This year, daytime highs have been well into the 70's for over a month. I'll keep my 4-8 weeks of FL "winter", thank you. I actually do miss it. I gave it up many years ago because of back problems (thanks Mom and Dad!). I have played a few times since, but I do not put a whole lot into it because of the twisting motions required.

Obama's modus operandi is to simply vote "Present", that's it. That is his history and that is what he has and will always do. He is not a leader in any sense of the word nor does he want to be. He merely wants Title and Privilege but not Responsibility. And, so it is and so the rest of the world sees him for who he is. In the long run, his passive nothingness is going to result in tragedy for America. yeah, yeah , yeah, heard it already, something new please....yada, yada

I agree and we are beginning to see many in his own party including senators take to the floor of the senate and ask a basic question "Where is the Presidential Leadership?"

Separately, the White House is encouraging high schools to compete to get Obama as their graduation speaker. So Obama is checking out which high school he will speak at in hopes of helping his presidential campaign...so while he is working on his basketball playoffs brackets he is also preparing for his high school speeches...in the meantime the Federal Budget process is a complete mess in the senate and about to drive ole Harry Reid to drink even though he is a Mormon ..
