1. Stupid people who have the right to vote and procreate.
2. Idolization of celebrities who don't deserve it.
3. Education (and the upcoming college bubble burst that I predict).
4. Cheap processed foods vs. more expensive whole/pure foods

Now, if a major industrial company dumped the exact same thing in the river, they would be fined millions of dollars. Government, that's ok, we had no other option........ You don't see the difference in an elected government doing what is necessary for the people, vs a private company doing something for profit? Well, if you can think of another option, let's hear it. Surely you can come up with something.
So, Mother Nature doesn't get hurt as bad if the government does it. The greater good is served. I guess some can look at it that way.

For me the biggest issues are the three "Es" (economy, education, and environment) plus the governments love affair with determining what I do or don't do with my uterus:
However, I will not vote for anyone who suggests cutting taxes. Because we cannot afford a tax cut in this country.

Since that would likely be at least a simple majority of the population, I have no doubt that MOST of those would be surprised by it.

Vancouver Island, and the city of Victoria, also spew millions of gallons of raw sewage that infiltrate US waters. Just sayin'. We're only doing it for a week and it's only a third of our sewage. The city is very old and sewers need to be repaired before raw sewage comes bubbling up out of the ground. You can't do repairs to a sewer system without emptying it. There are virtually no other options. My issue with it is that they should wait until after the fall migration, so we could at least mitigate some of the damage.
So..you get all self-righteous about our choice in light bulbs while your country contaminates our waters with shit...talk about being a hypocrite!!

Isn't the environment worth it? You're the one whining about having to use different light bulbs. Isn't the environment worth it?
In any case, we don't have an extra 5 billion floating around. What do we cut? Snow removal and road repair? Health care? Education? We could close all the nursing homes, I suppose. Those demented old folks will be just fine out on the street.
So...the environment is worth it as long as you don't have to pay for it...got it.
You know, you are sounding like those evil republicans...the environment is worth it as long as it doesn't count you any money.....

ROTFLMAO! So, when I call you a Republican, it's snark. When you call me a Republican, what is it? A compliment?

if it is AMERICANS we are worried about here, i would say declining wages for the bottom 50% are the biggest concern.

Job Security Environment Issues including water quality and conservation plans. Healthcare Costs and now especially Rx costs that have gotten out of hand and are only regulated by Big Pharma. What a great idea! Morality and responsibility for one's self in this country has reached all time lows. I'm not talking about helping the poor or people who are really handicapped who need a hand up but people who think everything is somebody elses fault and wants to sue or thinks everything should be handed to them because they merely exist with no efforts on their part whatsoever. And greedy crooks that get away with stealing people's money without being held accountable for their actions. People should not be able to walk away from their homes/mortgages just because they don't think it's worth what they think it should be or without accountability unless something serious happened like loss of job without any potential to replace that income/major illness/death, etc. Bankruptcy laws still need to be revamped further. You should not be able to continue to spend frivolously after filing bankruptcy only to file again with the same bad spending habits. Repeat offenders should be made to pay their bills and less people should be allowed to file unless it's a legit reason (extreme change in income due to medical/divorce/death, medical bills, etc.) Not because they like new purses, shoes, cars or whatever crap they think they need. Advertisers and Politicians should have to tell the truth. In Japan you are not allowed to just say whatever you want or accuse people of things that are not true. They will have great repercussions if that happens. We need to adopt that rule here in this country. You should not be allowed to claim foods are healthy/better/full of natural ingredients or the like unless it's actually true. Packaging info. should have real words that make sense and not made up scientific ones. Like if it has Low-density polyethylene in the food it should be listed as Plastic.

I had a friend one time who sold his truck on payments to a guy with no job who just got out of jail. If people want to lend money irresponsibly that should be a bit on them. If you mandate that bankruptcy is a much harder option you will just get more people who lend to people they should not lend to. I agree with you that borrowers should be responsible for money they borrowed, but I think also that lenders should be responsible for who they lend to. Have a little sense and don't lend to people who are obviously bad credit risks.

With all due respect, can't you volunteer at an elementary school, or the like, to feel superior? You'd also be taller there too!
