So we using the term unemployed to mean anyone between 18-68 who happens to not have a full time job. How is this a meaningful statistic at all? We are including retirees, stay at home moms, students, disabled, and entrepreneurs who opt for the 4 hours work week. What is the point of this statistic when it includes a huge group that has no interest in a full time job? How is this data point relevant? it isn't. it includes housewives, househusbands, the independently wealthy, the incapacitated (temporary or long term), etc. in other words, it is a grab bag of various people, many of which neither need to work nor want to work. WFP is a total ruse disguised as data. it is better for sociologists than economists and political wonks.

Hickle,
Please read post #57 as many times as needed. Certain posters over the years have earned their responses whether you like them or not.

"Debate the post not the poster" or mock the poster because you (generic 'you') either cannot or are too lazy to debate the post. Respond to whomever's post however you like.

Sorry, but I feel no need to debate, honestly and with merit, every wackadoodle, non supported, conjecture that is spouted on the Internet.

I said that once. I've now said it a second time. Posts will start disappearing. mmhmm, Politics Moderator

Your post #57 should be studied by all. What's wrong with suggesting that.

Your post #57 should be studied by all. What's wrong with suggesting that. Had you suggested it be read by all because you think everyone should read it, there'd be nothing wrong with that. The fact that you directed your suggestion to only one poster changes the dynamics. Stay on topic and don't target individual posters, dondub.

I used to use AAA both for travel and for car insurance. Haven't for either in decades. But I have used them for battery jumping and to buy luggage.

Goodwill Michael Miller, CEO of Goodwill, earns $856,043. Goodwill uses donations to train people for jobs who are currently unemployed. After being ridiculed by the Oregon Department of Justice for an “unreasonable” salary, Miller continues with compensation surpassing $850,000. During Miller’s time at Goodwill, he has increased revenue up to 107 percent to a record $135.5 million, while adding 1,000 jobs since 2004. The number of people served through Goodwill has increased from 11,694 to 52,170 during Miller’s leadership, perhaps proving the benefit of well-paid charity CEOs (Portland Business Journal). smartycents.com/articles/nonprofit-ceo-salaries/
