Wis state unions are publishing no solicit lists of businesses and individuals that have made contributions to Governor Walker and encouraging people to boycott those businesses. In this community of about 60,000 aproximately 300 on that list. Big nice thank you to the people who pay their salaries.

My brother used to get those lists when he was in the Retail Clerks union. We made it a point to patronize those businesses on the black list as often as possible.

I will be doing that also. The union seems pretty determined to be the last ones standing. Hope they like the outcome.

I was thinking in our country we have the right to do business with who we want to.

They have the perfect right to do just that, and I am completely sure that it will backfire.

Maybe they are going to use it to pay for some of their retirement and healthcare benefits. They of course have the right to put their money anywhere they choose. If they need suggestions, call me.

I wonder what entices sane people to want to run into burning buildings, except a fair trade off in wage and benefits? .... I'm guessing most people have altruistic motives... I'm guess once the public says 'screw you' a few times... most people are bound to lose their alturism...

You think so? You don't think people burn out on helping other people... especially when the other people keep giving them the middle finger?
Its not eye for eye... no.. but with no respect, no thanks, and constant headaches... it becomes much easier to just let people handle their own problems... teach your own kids.... fight your own fires... etc.

Didn't Walker exempt the Firefighters? If so, I wonder what's their beef? As for the altrusim in it, I believe firefighters is down the list of the most dangerous jobs, behind farmers and truck drivers. I think deep sea fishing, (loberstering and crab fishing? ?), may be the most dangerous. What makes them do those jobs? Can't be the hours, the pay, or the health care and retirement benefits.

Their beef is they won't be used to quell the current strife... only to have their turn next...

All politicians should be required to wear Nascar style patches, showing their 5 biggest contributors! Let's know who is really being represented.

PBP, I think that happens a lot with most of these causes. Just donate to Walker and you will end up on the list. $10 K should do it.

Can't wait for the next State Of The Union when Obama comes out in his awesome purple jacket with the huge SEIU on the back, and all those little patches from the NEA, AFL-CIO, etc.

PBP, I did say ALL. Then I will watch for the guy with only one patch that says "the people". You really need to listen to our historic leader. Union members are people, too. They're our neighbors, they're our police and firefighters, and teachers. These folks are us. And so are owners of corporations. I'm all for full disclosure, but the real problem of special interests isn't one of corporate and union donors-- it's one of government power. You can't buy what isn't for sale. That's why I'm for SMALLER GOVERNMENT.

I wonder if the unions will be publishing a similar list of what politicians/organizations/corporations they have given money to?
