If I accompany my wonderful DH ~ HE carries cash, credit cards, and has a debit card. If I am by myself, I do likewise. Our checkbook lives at home. He doesn't let you carry the money?

I don't have an ATM card and I rarely get to the bank so my cash situation can range from a few hundred (when I first hit the bank) to a dollar or so (when I need to find time to get to the bank).
I always have my credit cards with my and usually my checkbook, though I only write two or three checks a month.

I generally carry: - three CCs (AmEx, Visa, and Discover) - ATM/debit card (rarely run as debit) - some amount of cash that varies from $0-200
Never have a checkbook unless I know I need it for something specific.

I put cash in my wallet based on what's on my Calendar of Events... If it's Sunday night and I don't have any expenses above and beyond a lunch or snack for Mon - Wed, I'll put $20 to $30 in my wallet. I review on Wednesday what I need for Thurs/Frid and update cash as necessary (if drinking with co-workers add some, if it's an opera night and I drive I need to pay for parking (cash), if I'm taking the train somewhere other than home I may need a dollar bill or two to pay on the train for the extra zone(s) I'm traveling thru... etc...) I review take cash I'll need on Saturday (grocery envelope for example) I always carry two credit cards - Discover is my main card and my backup MasterCharge. If I need one of my store cards I'll put that in my wallet the day I go to that store. My checkbook rarely leaves my home... it's my one and only area of security paranoia: don't care if my CCs are stolen and used - terrified of having my bank routing number 'stolen' and my account cleaned out (even though there's hardly any money there - just the headache of recovering from this scenario makes me tired and cranky.)

I carry all of it - cash, debit, credit, checks. I am the go-to person at work when someone needs cash since no one else carries cash anymore. They always pay me back.

I used to carry it all, when I had to be prepared for any eventuality at any time. I've since given up that attitude, simplified my life, and lightened my purse.
Today, I just carry CCs. I refuse to use a debit card. The only cash I carry is an emergency bill hidden away to be used for emergency cab fare home in the event of an emergency (lost CCs, plus lost keys or dead car.) I also carry emergency bus script for the same reason. The emergency bills/script are kept away from the CCs.
My check book and ATM card stay in my desk, and I do use them each a few times a year.

I carry two Amex cards, one Visa and one debit card, although the debit card makes me nervous sometimes (when I think about Clark Howard, he says never to carry them). I need it to withdraw cash from the ATM from time to time though, so it stays in the wallet. I put everything I can on the Delta Amex (I'm building up miles to go to England next year). I use the Visa if the merchant doesn't take Amex. I never carry a checkbook. For cash, I carry between $20 and $80. I only pay cash for purchases less than $5, or to buy into our lottery pool at work. We spend $6/week each in the lottery and I usually pay for a month at time.

I carry some cash and my ATM card only. I don't have a CC and rarely use checks. In fact, I can't remember the last time I've written a check.
I moved all my accounts from Wachovia to a credit union after they goofed up my checking account and spent weeks straightening the mess out. I haven't applied for a cc with the credit union, but will probably do so with the new rules about some banks limiting the amount you can use with an ATM card soon.
I mostly use cash for everything, although I do use my ATM card for withdrawals. I pay all my bills on-line so don't need to write any checks.

A Ruger....
LOL, Apple.
I carry two checkbooks (one household, one business). Debit Cards for both checking accounts, 1 credit card (seldom used). Right now I have about $120 in cash but normaly only carry about $20 unless we are going out for the evening.

I'm like Crone - I like to smack mofo's upside the head with my wad of Benjamins, LOL.
I carry around my debit card all the time, and I was getting pretty used to paying for everything with it, taking advantage of the Keep the Change program. However, my bank has been acting funny and denying transactions recently, so that I am almost afraid to use it now. I was away for the last few days, and I just took out $400 in cash for spending money rather than deal with the trouble.
I also carry my GapCard in case I have a wardrobe malfunction. You can find one of their stores (or a Banana Republic, or Old Navy,) pretty much anywhere.
AAA for discounts on stuff, I don't have a car anymore, but I still save at least triple the annual fee by asking before I pay everywhere.
I keep my coin change for all of my transactions, so I usually have a few dollars floating around my purse. I turn these into amazon giftcards every few months (free at coinstar.)

I keep my primary CC, a backup CC and my debit card in my wallet. My cash varies (I usually take it out $100 at a time -- sometimes it lasts me a few days, sometimes a few weeks). I keep a check or two folded up, just in case.

Most CC and debit cards. Never a checkbook unless I'm going somewhere that I intend to write a check. Occasionally cash, but I rarely get more than $40, and only if I am planning to go to a place I want to pay cash at. I shop at some cash only places, and there are a lot of small mom and pop places that take plastic, but I prefer to pay cash to save them the overhead.

Just the debit card, and the credit card. I think there's a checkbook in the glove box of each vehicle though. I only have cash if we're going somewhere that I know I'll need it, like a ball game or something.

2 credit cards 1 debit card less than $40 in cash Check book (usually only use it for Dr. office co-pays) A whole bunch of gift cards that people give me for Xmas and Birthdays. That's almost like cash, right?
