Saranac Pale Ale. Utica, NY. Hum...I'm not far from there, but I prefer Samueal Adams, Boston...OK I'm a huge Yankees fan, I hope you are.

Lately I've been digging the ESB and IPAs from my local (town name) brewery, as well as Neshaminy Creek's J.A.W.N. Other great local beers are Sly Fox, Yards, Forest and Main, and Tired Hands. And of course Victory buy I'm kind of meh on them.

What do you like about Magners over Angry Orchard? Not sure I have seen that brand in CNJ.

Forbidden Root - their name sake forbidden root and their ginger beer. Of course this is me being partial because it is made by a friend. He started as a home brewer and even made beer for our wedding 5 years ago. Now he is a brew master, in bars and stores all over Chicago. They expect to open a tap room this year. Sent from my HTC One_M8 using proboards What does Forbidden root taste like? It looks intriguing, especially the ginger beer. Could use some now, as my stomach is not very happy with me.

Today its a wheat beer from Harbin China. Can't make out the characters on the bottle. It feels really great watching the people walk by and tasting some great barbecue in one of Beijing's bar street.

It's a pretty popular Irish cider. I'm sure you can find it. It's not as sweet as most American ciders, though Philly Brewing does make a good dry cider. I don't like sweet things but I will drink ciders at tailgates to keep a tab on the boozing, so Magners (or Strongbow) it is. Still on the sweet side (apples, obviously can't help that) but they don't irritate my teeth just looking at a bottle.

Forbidden Root is the "brand" they have a forbidden root beer that is a root beer. They make all their beers with botanical the old school way so it doesn't taste like a&w root beer. Sublime ginger is their ginger beer. It has alcohol unlike most ginger beers. It is very smooth and tasty! Very drinkable, especially during the summer. They also have a beer called shady character, which I believe is a porter? I am not a fan of porters. There was one I tried a few months back that isn't out yet... It was chocolate or coffee or something like that. Sent from my HTC One_M8 using proboards

I went to Jester King in Austin, Tx a few weeks ago. They produce some really amazing farm house ales. Beautifully blended, funky, tart interesting flavors. They were about 45 minutes outside of downtown. I highly recommend it if you are in the area.

And if anyone is ever in central CT, let me know and I we can visit the new brewery in town, my treat. They are brewing some very high quality new england style, big, juice, creamy IPAs.
