The left is so violent these days. I see these "fists" everywhere now. What ever happened to "flower power"? I'm so disillusioned....

I LOVE the divisions. I was growing weary of the united statist front. I'm glad to see the party that is supposed to be for smaller government actually standing for it for the first time in decades.

This isn't Egypt, and our peasants don't just have pitch forks. It should prove interesting.

Yes I guess you would..."I LOVE the divisions", the problem is, a lot more like you feel the same. Think it's a ball game here, it's not. It's neighbors even family members split over it, and getting more viciouse by the day, the hour. We had a war where brother and father against other family members were actually killing each other over a idea, and whole I don't think that will happen, the idea behind it is there and were you and others might welcome that, I don't. It's not right , it's destructive and could be a permanent thing, or at least one with us for along time.

There's not going to be a civil war over public employee pay. There's not going to be a welfare revolt-- they're too lazy to fight anyway. Most public sector employees and welfare recipients will roll over and die on their own if they ever have to make an honest buck.
We're just going to take some modest, reasonable steps to reign in the excesses, restore the balance of power.
We're going to balance our budgets at every level, and some pain is inevitable in that process. For the first time in a very long time, if not ever-- government will be downsized. Government employees are no longer exempt from the sacrifice.

What a truly ignorant thing to say. Then again, this line is coming from someone who likes the division in America, so what else can we expect from you?

In a way it's encouraging to see these two parties tearing each other apart at the seams since it only helps the possibility of additional parties starting that can shake up their monopoly of power in our government. While I wouldn't rule out the possibility of civil revolt in this country I think it will come from the private workers and tax payers not from public employees who already receive more protection and security then any other segment of employees. This shake up in WI was long over due.

From someone who likes to have open, honest, and transparent debate between two opposing points of view that require diametrically opposed policies, to someone with absolutely no sense of humor.

Like I said, the real discouraging thing has been the unity between the statist, and statist light parties; between the spends too much party, and the total bankruptcy party; between the big government party, and the bigger government party. Be nice to see a couple upstart parties join the fray.

Here's some of the "quotes of the day" from the kook left FREAKOUT!!! that went on today-- these are from the "journalists" among us, so you know they're fair, balanced, and completely objective--
MADDOW: The Republicans in Wisconsin’s state Senate appear to have invented a new nuclear option.
JAVERS: State Republicans are pulling the nuclear option.
MACDONALD: This is the nuclear option.
REICH: Making a mockery of democracy and the rule of law.
O'DONNELL: Eighteen Senate Republicans conspired to take government away from the people.
SCHULTZ: This was an illegal move.
YANG: Democrats are up in arms. They say this was illegal. They say this violated the rules of the chamber.
MOORE: They are stripping the democratic rights of the people.
And my personal favorite, from Mr. Tingly Leg himself...
MATTHEWS: The Ash Wednesday Ambush.

I saw some clips of the "sit in" on the Communist News Network last night and all I could think of was what the protests will look like when REAL austerity measures are taken right across the country. Like the reduction of at least half of bloated governments at all levels. Can't wait to hear what Paul's list of communists will have to say then!

Oh right, and I suppose what you said was all in good fun, yes?
You didn't really mean it.
Now I'm the one who is supposed to feel silly for not seeing the humor!
I don't know who you're used to dealing with, but I'm not falling for it. You'll have to do better.

This was modern American journalism's response to what one governor did in Wisconsin. I didn't hear the same response to ObamaCare.

I don't know who you're used to dealing with, but I'm not falling for it. You'll have to do better. I'm used to dealing with a 15 month old and a 7 year old at my house, but I suppose I could dumb it down a bit for you-- I am SERIOUS about my opinion there will not be a revolt. The temper tantrums and shrieking over budget cuts will continue- after all, the big spenders, and beneficiaries of big spending in both Parties are not used to hearing, "NO". They haven't heard it in some time. I was JOKING about welfare recipients and government workers being too lazy to fight. If you don't see the good humor in that, you're just slow-- or you take yourself a bit too seriously. I suspect it's a combination of the two. I am SERIOUS about liking the political divisions in the country. I regard compromise on matters of principle as the real threat, and our current political divisions constructive. We've been putting off having this fight for 70 years, and there's no better time than now to have the fight. We're deeply indebt, 42 cents of every dollar we spend is borrowed money, my household and yours-- as of Wednesday-- owe $126,000, and it's time we had a grown up discussion about not spending what we don't have. We could cut the ENTIRE defense department and ALL foreign aid, and we'd still be borrowing $1 trillion this year. No joke. So, cuts will come from downsizing government-- FIRING government workers, and CUTTING welfare. There are currently 35% of Americans on some kind of government program. We don't have that many truly needy people. The free ride is going to END for many of them-- that's just reality. There, I hope that was clear enough for you. I somehow doubt it though. Reply when you're mature enough to have a serious discussion. I look forward to that in about 25 years after you've been out of your parent's house for a few years <<< THAT was a hilarious JOKE! ;D

I bet I could get you banned if I tried hard enough. I don't think you have the self-discipline not to go postal if I kept pushing you. And I could do it without ever breaking the terms of use. You keep inching ever closer to what will be regarded as unacceptable behavior, and I'm doing nothing more than what we're supposed to do here: debate controversial issues.
You can't seem to handle it, and, I'll admit, I'm getting a few "lulz" out of it. I expected real discourse, but a "lulz" or two will suffice in its place.
To put it bluntly, I don't believe you. I've heard the same "joke" said a thousand times by a thousand conservatives, and not one of them has ever tried back-peddling by saying, "But it was only a joke!"
The bottom line is that you said something ignorant, you knew it was ignorant, but admitting your mistake would result in a loss of face, so you decided to retroactively turn it into humor, which it wasn't (and never was).
The reason I think this is because hacking on the poor, welfare, and the presumptuously stereotyped "lazy" has become a staple of conservative rhetoric. Even if you're telling the truth about your so-called humor, you can thank your fellow conservatives for making it impossible to believe you.
By the way, just because you think something is funny doesn't mean everyone else will. Not every comedian is a good one.
And that is why people of your ilk are the real threat. You want everything to go your way, and your rigid, inflexible stubbornness shows a complete lack of empathy. Without compromise, it will come down to a bloody fight sooner or later because it will be the last option available. The teachers in WI were willing to compromise on heath care and benefits, but Walker refused to compromise on collective bargaining rights, and now look what's happening.
Salaries and benefits should be at the very bottom of the list of things to cut, but for conservatives who absolutely loathe public servants, they are consistently at the top of the list.
Nationally, I find it stupid and short-sighted that we're in debt, as you say, yet we just approved the largest dollar amount for military spending in the history of the United States. The middle class will have to pay for that, but more to the point, the working poor will be the ones who end up shouldering the burden as their assistance is cut to ribbons.
I'm not suggesting we do that. But the government, both state and federal, needs to go over the budget with a fine-toothed comb and the nonsense before grabbing the middle class around the throat and squeezing.
For instance, $1 million in federal money going to Minnesota to promote socially conscious puppet shows! Yes, I'm not kidding. There are hundreds of programs like that which could be axed that add up to a significant amount of money. Even if cuts still had to be made to salaries and benefits, those cuts would be less.
No person with any people skills would ever expect me to find that funny. I think we both know that, so once again, like many bullies, you use humor as a shield from behind which you fling your little barbed arrows.

For those who consistently display certain types of behaviors, I would imagine that's true.
As for what kind of comment it was, well, call it a friendly warning. I'm not doing anything whatsoever to intentionally get someone banned, but when I see people growing frustrated enough with my posts that they begin throwing around almost (but not quite) serious enough insults to be noticed by moderators, often it's only a matter of time.

Go for it. Bet you join Lakhota at the sweat lodge before I get banned.
Psychologists call this "projection". Troll away. You'll get no response from me. In fact you're very close to making my "invisible poster" list where I see your name and ignore your posts.
You are in the process of violating the terms of use now.
Perhaps. I'll leave that to the mods. You are currently engaging in unacceptable behavior that violates the terms of use.
You're supposed to stay on topic. As a reminder: The topic of this thread is the angry protesters at the capitol building in Madison, WI. If you would like, you can start your own thread titled, "Everyone That Hates Communists is a NAZI" and see how many people you get to participate.
Stop threatening to be the best troll ever if you try, watch the accusations, stay on topic, and otherwise do your best to abide by the terms of use here. If you have problems with me from here on out- address it with the mods.
