We just watched it this morning. First five minutes I thought it was another "Lost" in the Idaho woods. Then I thought of Twin Peaks, but now it looks like a rest home for wayward Secret Service agents. Lots of talent in the first episode, but looks like a loser.

I liked it well enough to give it a few more views. I was a huge Lost fan & a Matt Dillon fan.

By 10 episode event, do they mean it will actually wrap up the story in 10 episodes?

DH and I are really enjoying Wayward Pines. Can't wait for tonight's episode!
We really like the new 10-episode shows/mini-series, like this and True Detective.

I watched last week's episode last night. I am a little torn when it comes to this show. In many ways I like it but it is so over the top. I am also hoping to get a little more information on what the hell is going on. The government obviously knows about this place. They send their agents there so what is this... some kind of experiment?
Terrance Howard is such a great actor. He really knows how to play characters you hate (which means he is probably an extremely nice man in real life). It always seems like the ones who play the bad characters turn out to be really likeable when they are interviewed.

I am glad Matt Dillon (can't think of his character's name) has a wife that is going out on her own to look for him. That is exactly what I would do if my husband went missing and the government was hiding information from me. I am interested to see what she finds out (e.g. will she talk to people in Boise who knew the female agent that now lives in Wayward Pines).

Of course it's over the top and you don't know what is going on - it is M. Night Shyamalan!

DH and I did kind of like some of his stuff that others hated, but you are right - either really good or really bad.

It looked from the previews that she was pulled over by the Wayward Pines sheriff but that could be a bluff.

The show is making me want to read the books but I don't really want to read the books and watch the show simultaneously.

It does look like a rest home or witness protection for people they want to hide or banish. The giveaway was when he found the wall around the city and phoney money.

So, who has any theories as to what that town is?
My husband thought it was some kind of govt experiment thing, but not after the last few seconds of tonight's episode.
Now we are all confused

Now we are all confused Same here. I thought it was a govt experiment as well until last night's episode. Also, Juliette Lewis AND Terrance Howard have already been killed off I thought Matt Dillon's character would have asked more questions before shooting Terrance Howard (I certainly would have). He probably wouldn't have gotten any answers but still... The time issue in the town is what is really throwing me off. I am getting into this show now. The first 2 episodes were a little iffy for me but after last night's episode I will definitely keep watching.

I don't know if it is some sort of science experiment with time travel or what.
Because Kate says she has been in Wayward Pines for 12 years, but she has only been gone from the real world for 5 weeks.
On the other hand, Beverly said she had been in Wayward Pines for 1 year, except that she got there in 1999, which was 15 years ago in the real world.

So do we really get to find out what the hell is going on tonight? The previews seem to indicate we will!

Yes, according to my husband, creator of the show didn't want to have a surprise at the end, but have viewers "be on the journey"
so, we'll find out what's going on and then we will be seeing how they try to get out of there
we should throw out some ideas as to what's going on

I think it is some sort of government experiment but not sure what type.
Don't really have any concept for the creatures on the other side of the wall.

The government definitely has something to do with it since they know about it and send people there but I can't figure out what the deal is... is it a mind control experiment, a time travel experiment, and now we have these creatures hanging around... Are they leftovers from a earlier experiment? So many factors that I can't narrow it all down.
All I know for certain is that Pam lady is one crazy bitch.

From last week it seems she went & seduced that guy right out of his hotel room & the time weirdness somehow was in play because she was a young woman when she seduced him & her old self when he woke up in Wayward Pines. Worst morning after ever!

How about Burke is actually asleep or something and it's all an induced dream - govt is using it as training/trying to determine how its agents will be able to get out of certain situations and how far will they go to do it, i.e will they kill an innocent person, etc

Well, the explanation actually made a lot more sense than I was expecting. So I get that they keep these people frozen or whatever for 2000 yrs but there still has to be some sort of time travel device, right? They find out Matt Dillon's wife and son are coming to look for him and then Terrance Howard shows up in 2014 and makes them have a car accident. So now I guess Matt Dillon needs to find the DeLorean.

My mom told me there is a companion show on line that involves a guy trying to get into Wayward Pines. I think I will check it out this weekend.
I don't watch anything in real times so I will watch last nights episode when I get home tonight.

So now I guess Matt Dillon needs to find the DeLorean. Also, in the first episode the doctor was talking to Matt Dillon's boss. I guess it would also explain that they all think it's a different year. and it would explain as to why there are no phones that call outside of town and no computers or TV's etc. But why are they keeping this a secret from the whole town except the children? I was hoping for no time travel, not too much science fiction explanations, though. I am not big on science fiction.
