suesinfl, I noticed your quote in your signature. I have adored Anna Quindlen for years. She's my favorite author of adult books (as opposed to Young Adult since I teach middle level language arts .
If any one else is interested in her writing, She has new book coming out this month--Miller's Valley. I'm hoping to get to it this summer.

The Girl with All the Gifts was a nice listen. Twist on current common trend. Probably YA.

The Girl with All the Gifts was a nice listen. Twist on current common trend. Probably YA. I enjoyed this one as well. I really liked The Boys in the Boat - great true story. Now I'm listening to The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry. It's okay. I'm supposed to be reading The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August. I'm halfway through and just can't get into it. I need to pick a different book and just move on.

I'm not the fastest reader so it'll probably take the best part of a month to read I Am Pilgrim. So far so good ... it definitely has my attention.

I am about 3/4 of the way through Shift. It is a great read IMO.

Thanks Chloe, I really like her writing style and that quote hit home with some political happenings with our library system. Sadly, I don't have much time for pleasure reading, but hopefully I will this summer.

I stayed up wayyy to late last night and devoured Chase Me by Laura Florand. I also finished Lisa Shearin's Armed & Magical. As a carpool book we listened to the Revenant and enjoyed it until the last chapter. It ended off to me but everyone agreed that the keynotes at the end were very interesting.

Ya, I enjoyed The Revenant except the last chapter - the whole trial thing was pretty dumb. Also I didn't enjoy the narrator at times - he would pause too long between words and it threw the rhythm off.

Listened to I Am Spock and Curious Incident of Dog in the Nightime. I bought the Swarm... Wowsa. It's big. Will take me awhile to get there... Have you finished it yet? I really liked it. It was a little TOO big, and there was a lot in the first third of the book that could have been left out.

Finished Invest With The House and Shareholder Yield, both short reads by Mebane Faber
If you enjoy reading investment theory and research, both are okay.
Read Rebecca Donovan's What If in one night. Mystery romance that is predictable, but the story is told so well, I couldn't put it down. She has a way of drawing me into her stories and the lives of the characters.

It was a little TOO big, and there was a lot in the first third of the book that could have been left out. Honestly haven't started yet. Figured I'd tackle it this summer. I've been on my spring audio kick as I get stuff done outside. I listened to Mariana by Susanna Kearsley, not generally my thing but nice light and good reader. Broken Grace and Beacon 23. I'm listening to the Flicker Men right now. Kind of mixed on it, but can't put it down. Actually none if them is as good as last spring listens, but none bad. Reading print I'm on the 4th Molly Sutton mystery, nothing too taxing again, but fun. Usually I read them in two days tops though and I just haven't had much time for print lately.

I found 'Around the world in 80 days' and 'A little princess' at the local thrift store. I've never read either so have both of them in my car to read while waiting somewhere.

I have several books going right now.
Carpool - we have been listening to The Oregon Files series by Clive Cussler -- we just finished Plague Ship and Skeleton Coast. I picked up His Majesty's Dragon by Naomi Novik as a nice break. I believe we are on disc 4 or 5 and it is making the car fairly quiet on the commute.
Read Sandstorm by James Rollins - It was a decent read
Starting - A Murder in Time by Julie McElwain and The Best of Friends by Susan Mallory
At work I have been re-listening to the Mercy Thompson series by Patricia Briggs. I'm on River Marked right now.

There are a couple of Amazon promos right now. I don't know if they are tied to Amazon Prime or not. I stumbled on the first one on Facebook. It is a $3 credit to start off your summer reading. I remember it expired 5/30 so I jumped on it to help me buy a little more expensive mystery (Jane Haddam) than I usually purchase. The second one came in an email this morning. You get three books . . . again, to jumpstart summer reading. One was War Brides. Another was Follow You Home. I forget the third. All are free. You just click the link. I just checked back . . . the second one won't give me a link because I already redeemed it. But if you get the Kindle Daily Deals, you probably got it. If not, you should look for it. ETA: Both are for Kindle.

Ooh, summer reading. I wonder if my library is having their usual summer reading challenge. I won a grocery store gift card two summers ago.

I've started reading The Master Key by Robert Peng. He is a Qigong Master and this is the story of how he became that. Good reading so far.

Just finished a book called A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara. It was not what I thought it was going to be about based upon the dust jacket blurb but still a good read. Read it only if you have time-720 pages long.

I'm about two-thirds of the way through The Fireman by Joe Hill. It's okay, but it's a bit of a let down. It really should be better than it is. I'm glad I was able to borrow it via online library rather than paying for a copy.
Up next on my Kindle is Rogue Lawyer by John Grisham.
I own hard copies of Mr. Mercedes and Finders Keepers, so next week I will buy End of Watch, which is the third book in the trilogy. (Author Stephen King). I've enjoyed the first 2 books, and hope to enjoy the last one.

I did get the one with the 3 books.

I've enjoyed the first 2 books, and hope to enjoy the last one. I've liked the 2 or 3 things I've read by Joe Hill, but that's probably because he is his father's son and you can see it now and then. I try hard to not compare the 2 when I read his stuff but there are a few things that made me think "there's his dad's influence". Now I have to check my library for his book and his dad's newest. I've been reading lots of Agatha Christie lately, mystery without the bloody mess of more modern books. My brain needed a break for a bit.

Just finished You by Caroline Kepnes. I may be a little freaked out from this book. I may need to take a week or two before I start the next one.

I am reading a really lighthearted mystery series right now by Liz Mugavero . They are what I would categorize as "cute." I started them on the plane to Vegas a week ago. I wanted something mindless to read on the trip but I kind of got hooked on them. I will get back into reading some more serious stuff later but these are kind of fun for a change.
