The dream of being an accountant at a construction company is played over and over in the heads of millions of children.Although I do enjoy my job I don't think it was my dream as a kid I had lots of big plans and dreams and none of them turned out the way I had originally hoped. But honestly I wouldn't change much. Based on a few books and movies I know that changing one thing has a tidal wave effect on the rest of your life. So the decisions I made that brought me to this point in my life are not ones I would willingly change. Wouldn't trade DS in for anything.

debtheaven - I think I thought I was going to be some sort of career woman. It wasn't too clear, actually. Basically something with a lot of prestige and a lot of money, lol. I used to play dress up in my aunt's heels and suits.

Oh, I like this thread...
Ever since I was a kid I dreamed of having children of my own and giving them a better life than I had - one free of emotional baggage so they could thrive beyond belief. Not cliche...true. They are very young yet, but this dream is absolutely coming true. I'm so glad I waited until I was older to have kids. I'm only now ready to do it right. My DH says we are the bridge generation...emotionally stronger than our parents, and our kids will be perfect.
I also dreamed of being a twin, a speech pathologist, and living in a 2-story house...none of those came true. I still wish I was a twin!

Sad, but I cannot remember what my childhood dreams were. My adult dreams seem to change every time I have a bad day at work.
My son (9) was asked what he wanted to be when he grew up. He said he didn't know and they kept prompting him. He finally said, "I just want to be Johnny." (OK, not really Johnny, but...) His response made it to the school newsletter.
Kudos to the kid for figuring it out before I did.

A few of said you wished you were a twin, great dream! I wanted to have twin babies but God gave me two heathly single births so I am very thankful for that. I didn't but my brother and his wife had twins so I get to enjoy them too. Maybe I will have twin grandbabies someday

I'm not living my childhood dream-either an Olympic Coach or a cashier, lol! But as I grew a bit older I always pictured raising beautiful children by the beach. I've always felt a calling to it that I never felt towards city life or country living. I've been fortunate to be able to live this dream
