I get not wanting to work 12 hr shifts, but if the need is 12 hr shifts and you can turn that into a FT position , then why not? I have been able to create a lot of job arrangements that suit my employer and myself through offering flexibility.

Most bosses tend to make decisions based on balancing the outcomes desired with how much hassle it is to achieve those outcomes. In other words, they want results that are good enough without unnecessary hassle. Example - Could they get a perfect receptionist? Yes, but that would cost $X and need Y weeks to train and monitor, so they go with a receptionist that costs $Z and gets them 90% of their desired outcome.
A big part of this equation is how much hassle it is to deal with the employee. You can increase your chances of success by being a very low hassle person. In an employer's eyes a good employee gets your work done quickly and well without requiring huge amounts of supervision or intervention, and that includes time spent talking about other employees. If you were to go to a boss and tell them the amount of detail that is in the first 2-3 posts, not only would a boss not care about most of it (heck the boss him/herself has probably sent out an email without an attachment before), it would be counterproductive for you.
Stop worrying about what's fair and about others not being perfect and focus on being a solid, low drama employee and the bosses will be seeking you out to take more on. Develop good working relationships with your coworkers and bosses and that will help as well. Good luck. Shit. I'm incompetent.

You are working PT. The rest of your hours should be spent looking for a job in the same field elsewhere as FT.
Have you been taking any classes to update your Data Admin skills? That market is definitely heating up & is hitting higher paid lists. If you can still handle that job, it would be a great time to move back in that direction.
I think some of the stuff you posted in past would suggest that current management would see you as high maintenance. Maybe you aren't anymore, but since you used to be, that is how they will always see you. Get out & get a fresh start with a new organization!

1. New people are going to make mistakes. That's just a given. 2. Like a relationship, they're just not that into you. Look for a FT elsewhere, somewhere they might appreciate you more. This.

Hope it isn't age discrimination. Your comment about 30 hours could mean that they are saving the FT positions for younger, cheaper to insure employees? I agree that you should move on. Medical practices are definitely hiring again.

I think age discrimination is very real. And, the "best person for the job" is often just a myth. Part of my job on the School Board is to interview and hire. There are often many qualified candidates. And, you can't always rank them in a way that makes someone the "best" candidate. In reality, we are looking more for a best fit. So, there are many factors that come into play when hiring. And, honestly at 55, you are going to be a harder sell. And, even if you look good for your age, to a young boss or HR, you may seem worlds away from them. And, in hiring, they often just want to get someone in there thinking they can train them and that slot is filled and that person will be there forever. Selling your experience can sometimes be a challenge. And, not every company really values experience. I used to believe that. But, honestly, fresh faced enthusiasm is very infectious and hard to beat. It is what it is.

I agree that they seem to be passing you over for FT, over and over. I would definitely look elsewhere.
You could always come out and ask them straight out ... I need a FT job. Do I have hopes of getting one here in the near future, or should I just move on?
It seems to me that they have been hinting "no", but it seems like you feel the need for them to clarify things even further. But then you need to really hear their answer.
There is always the possibility that they don't want to lose you and will make an effort for you if they think that you are about to move on.
Personally, I would just apply elsewhere. You've gained valuable skills there, I'm sure you could transfer those elsewhere, to a FT position.

So I don't remember, why are you not looking elsewhere? Aren't you in some sort of long-term care facility? In my limited experience with them, they really just don't care. It sucks, but I agree with the others. Maybe it's time to move on.
