Dark Honor is known as "Sum Dum Gai" now.
Muscle-Up earned himself a perma-ban. But Sum Dum Gai still appears to be MIA SDG is probably pretty occupied with RL. I post a lot because you guys are my social circle ... for the most part. |

Regarding name changes, you guys know that you can hover over someone's screen name and see their profile name, right?
For example, when I hover over "PlainOldPetunia", my profile name (Petunia100) pops up. |

Hey everyone Oped sent me a fb post that said some of you mentioned me today. Yes- the other or "new" Sheila in California is not me.
I stopped posting back in September of last year. It didn't have much to do with the WIR side of things but honestly YM had gotten pretty bad. It just felt like every thread was becoming an epic Us vs Them or Them vs Us fight. I think I quit over a thread about reclining airline seats of all things. One guy that thought reclining your sit was rude was told that his wife was either a blow up doll or must be a drunk to be able to put up with living with him. To me that just seemed to be an unnecessarily mean comment. I don't know why that stuck such a cord with me but it did. So I just decided for myself I needed to step away. Then, as happens life got busy.
The Boy is amazing. His up north at a Robotics Camp this week. My intern is picking him up on Friday afternoon and driving him home (total abuse of my power I'll admit). We are leaving Saturday morning for our epic college road trip adventure. He has interviews set up at: Washington University in St Louis, Rose Hulman in Indiana, Carnegie Mellon in Pittsburgh on Wednesday, University of Dayton on Thursday and Case Western in Cleveland on Friday. He is wanting to major in Mechanical Engineering (prefers a Robotics emphasis- which are strong programs at WU and CM).
Otherwise my life is swimming along quite nicely. Looking forward to early admission decisions so the Boy will be settle on a school and I can plan for the future. Equal parts excited and sad about being empty nesters next fall.
I think of the boards often and have made some great friends through here. I just found myself abusing the anonymity of the internet and making comments that I personally felt were crossing the line. In real life I'm a smart ass but I really try not to be mean about it.
Maybe this fall when life settles down some I'll pop back in from time to time. I wish you all the very best that life has to offer.

So good to "see" you, sheilaincali! I sure hope you'll forgive us for sliding off the path every now and then. It happens, and it isn't always caught; however, a quick Report will usually get the nasty stuff seen to! Much better that than having good posters like you run off and disappear! Sounds like life is treating you and The Boy well. Best of luck to the two of you on your college road trip! I'll be looking for you come fall. |

mmhmm- it wasn't any one specific thread or comment really. It was me. I didn't like what I was doing. There was a moment after I read that comment about the guy's wife being a blow up doll in which I had formulated what was a unnecessarily rude response. I had to take a minute and step back and decide I didn't want to be "THAT" person. I didn't want to get in to an argument with someone I didn't know in real life over something as trivial as reclining an airline seat.
I learned so much on these boards and really valued the years I put into them. There is a lovely group of ladies that did a monthly no spend/controlled spend challenge with me for years floating around out there. Some of them still post, some of us are fb friends, and quite honestly, some of us still exchange Christmas cards. Not to be all mushy but those ladies helped me through a very difficult time in my life and I will forever be grateful to them.
Heck, Shanendoah and I have even arranged a marriage between the Boy and Poptart for years down the road.
I may come back, it's like the Godfather, you've pulled me back in. |

I'm so glad you're doing well. It's great to 'see' you again. I've had to back out on some boards too, and sometimes threads here because they're bad for ME. I absorb the negativity and then find myself being negative with DH and the kids, so I get it.
