I've had lots of food and beverage experience, including working at a campus Burger King, a bar/restaurant in a college town, several restaurants and stands at an amusement park, a bagel shop and a movie theater concession. I never did anything disgusting nor saw anybody else doing anything disgusting. Of course, I never monitored hand-washing, but I truly believe for the most part, people aren't out there trying to be gross.

Of course you'd have to of been in the Maurice Lennel cookie bakery (in Chicago)in the early 1970's watching what the high school kids used to do when they worked there. The big machines that stirred the batter weren't intended for human waste while in production. Think kids are different today ?

I've perfected both my hover for public toilets and my balance to flush with my foot, so I barely touch anything when I'm in public bathrooms if I'm seriously concerned about the door handle I just use a paper towel/tp.

Guess it's a good thing I was so sickly as a child, my immune system now is boss so I'll likely survive public restrooms, trains, dirty kitchens etc.

You mean you don't do that? Why I keep my toothbrush by my bed. Of course the cat plays hockey with it all night but no nasty toilet germs get on it!!

No, I'm not familiar with that story. ? A couple of the local high school kids (Ridgewood HS ?) were caught peeing and crapping in the large batter stirring machine(s). It was in 1971/72 I think. It only made the local news. I don't even remember if the kids were arrested or not. I still think of it sometimes when I'm dunking a cookie in my coffee.

No, we don't walk away. But when we're holding on to something precious, we run.

Why they don't have bathroom doors you can push on when you leave instead of pull is beyond me Fire code maybe? I know there used to be an apple orchard near here that was cited at damn near every year because their big double doors opened the wrong way. I don't remember why they couldn't change them to be the correct way. But they told me that the reason they were cited was fire code.

But not all bathrooms are like that. It's just odd.
