I don't like this new name. I miss the old URL. There was nothing wrong with the old name. Why did we change it? YMAM sounds like "Why ma'am"; it's confusing. People will think we misspelled "slam" or "tram" in the URL and they won't come here. My sig block over on the support board has to be updated; that you so much for making extra work for me. We should run a poll to see who wants to go back to the old name. "Your Money and More" sandwiches too many things together in the "more". Politics and CE aren't well enough represented. People from the crapsters board will call us "Your Money and Morons" since we call them "crapsters". How will MSN know where to find us if they ever want to restart a money message board? Do we so easily abandon our history? What about people who don't visit the board inside of two weeks? I don't think this was a good idea. The poll wasn't up long enough to get accurate results. I don't like the way Moon filtered the selections for the poll. "Stay the way we are" should have been one of the poll options. Why did we have to use the proboards.com domain and not boards.net? YMAM is too short and hard to remember. Now all my bookmarks are broken and have to be updated; this is a disaster. "Not MSN Money" had a cool countercultural bent to it; YMAM sounds like a Chinese Internet startup. People will think YMAM will stand for "You May Attack Members"; this will be terrible for board morale. "Your Money" makes the board sound too focused on money. What are we teaching our children about loyalty by abandoning our original name? All the hard work on the previous generation of masthead images is now going to waste. Does anyone else think that "Your Money and More" is a bit racist? Why can we not see who voted for what name? Where is the accountability? Wouldn't ym.boards.net have been shorter? Why not yourmoneyandmore.proboards.com so we don't have to remember a new name and a new acronym. Why isn't "Everything Else" in the name? Shouldn't the new name celebrate our MSN heritage by including an 'S' somewhere as well? This changeover is a complete disaster. I want to go back. Who's idea was this anyway?

LOL - that was my first thought too when I saw ymam - it looked like "Why, Ma'am?"

But then I decided to just live with it - it's now , at least in my head, "Your Most Awesome Members" (YMAM).

Yes you could have, but I personally prefer the initials, cause smaller URL's are suppose to be better.

We're no longer refugees - we've emerged into a new civilization  !! We have our own identity and name for  our land - no longer affiliated with a nation that died off almost 5 yrs ago.

The banner does look very nice, and while I had no problem with the MSN tag myself, I do understand the reason for the change.  I think the new name was a logical choice.  I was one of those who wanted to attach the "Everything Else" tag to it, but that would have been just too long of a name.

I think Money and Everything Else would have been an OK name as well.

Until recently we had 'Home to the Not MSN Refugees' as our name in the header.

Our old name had 28 characters or spaces in it. The Everything Else would have had 25.

The winning name is shorter than both, but it is also displayed in a much larger font

than its predecessor.  At least now I no why Lena said it was so big.

Like MB - I had no problem with the old name but I like that we have a new identity too.  Good job, Moon and everybody who voted for the name I wanted!

If you Google our old name "Not MSN Money ProBoard" the first thing that comes up is the name change, so don't worry.
