Ok. I made it through two movies, but man are they hokey. Not sure I can get further...

I finally found the series listing for my area since my previous posts - I don't have TNT on my cable package - but it IS aired on the Space network here - in fact it's airing right now.
I agree with oped - pretty hokey show. I guess it's okay if you're into far-fetched sci-fi fantasy - and the acting is really, really bad!

The movies are a bit hokey... I grant that. But the series is pretty good (at least I think it is).
Part of the problem with the movies is the character of the Librarian (Noah Wiley)... I don't know if it's him, himself... or how the character was written and he's following the character... but... his character is always a bit... off. Fortunately he only makes cameos in the series.

I'm into far-fetched sci-fi fantasy...like Timelords travelling through time and space in craft disguised as blue British police boxes.

I'm still behind. Part of it is that I"m not sure if DH wants to watch it or not. I don't like trying to explain what's happening to him 30 minutes into it. Or answering questions.

I brought it up last night. I got a "yeah, I guess" which makes me think he does want, kinda, to be around when I watch it.

Ok, done. If a mod wants to move the posts from this thread to the Librarians Series and Criminal Minds, that's fine. Not a big deal to me.

YES! I have a lot opinions about The Americans, as in, everyone should watch that show! And it would be a place that posters that tend to only stick to one area of the board to come to a place to talk about their favorite TV's shows with other posters that they may have never posted with before. Getting peeps out of their comfort zone and meet new peeps! Are you saying I'm anti-social even on a message board?!?!?! You may have a point

I tend to pretty much stick to EE and YM.

Hotch is starting to look a bit old. But he's still great. As long as Morgan is on the show, I'll continue to watch. I love me some Derek Morgan!

The more sub boards we have the more balkanized the board gets, not the other way around. If we only had a couple sub boards everyone is forced to interact with everyone else, because they're all posting in the same place. The more little sub groups we get the more you get a couple people that only post in their one favorite little sub topic and ignore the rest of the board, while the rest of the board ignores it completely and never posts there because they aren't interested in the sub topic. It's like a school campus. In a one room school house everyone knew everyone by default. You all sat in the same room all day, you had no choice. If you switch from that to a traditional school separated by grade level, most of the students only make friends in their own grade. They don't interact with the other grades enough to get to know them. Now take that same school and make multiple classrooms for each grade, all separated by test scores. High achievers in one class, average kids in one, underperforming kids in one. The kids all make friends from their respective group of peers, because they don't interact with the other two groups enough to get to know them. The more you impose separation on the student body the less cohesive the student body as a whole becomes. Instead you get a lot of little cliques. We have the same thing to a certain degree. There are people that pretty much only post in EE, only post in YM, only post in P&M, and only post in Smart Spending. They don't leave those sub boards. Since those sub boards are relatively large, it doesn't really matter. We also have people that pretty much only post on some of the smaller boards as well, like Investing Basics, or some of those other little sub boards that most of us never even check out. I can post here every single day, and the guy posting in Investing Basics can post here every single day, but we'll never actually interact because he won't leave his little sub board, and I won't go there to check it out. I totally disagree. I see posters from all the different groups posting in the Movie and Music and Sports categories because they are general categories that pretty much everyone has some kind of interest in. I believe a TV category would be the same way.
And as peeps around here are continually pointing out this isn't school we are suppose to be grown ups.

So does it get better? I've watched the first two episodes and I find myself checking the little slider bar underneath to see when it's going to be done.

I did watch 3rd librarian. Liked it better than the first two. Will try the series some time.
I do like Criminal Minds, but need it in small doses. Too much is just too much.

I just finished the 3rd episode of the 2nd season last night. It is starting to speed up. It does start out a little slow but it manages to keep my interest. Right now I just keep thinking about how stupid the 15 yr old babysitter is on the show. I know she is just a kid but she is annoying as hell.
