Reminds me of a stop with a friend of mine who was driving. My friend brake-checked that asshole, and predictably got pulled over and was ticketed for reckless. He filed a counter complaint for tailgating, and threatening with a vehicle. It worked. They dropped the ticket in exchange for him dropping his complaint. Everyone gets the breaks but me. I actually went to jail for that. Since it was written as reckless, I had to go to court. When I tried to explain myself, the judge told me what I had to say was "bologna". He said obviously I was trying to get the car in front of me to move over so I could drive even faster. He suspended my license for 6 months, fined me $500 and threw me in jail. Not one of my happier memories. Anytime I've told this story, people think I must have been drunk or mouthed off to the cop or judge. Nope, I was very respectful and just have bad luck. This punishment was more severe than drunk drivers got (at least in 2001) and I had no idea I should have shown up to court with a lawyer for keeping up with traffic on a congested interstate- bumper to bumper big rigs in the right lane and bumper to bumper cars driving 80 MPH in the left lane.

Some friends and I were playing a nice pick up game of flag football on a county-owned public soccer field. A cop came and bullied us to stop. He looked through our coolers too, but they just had Gatorade. In the cop's defense, there was a sign that said reseeding and to stay off the grass, but we weren't actually playing on that part of the field. He was jerk to us. A cop was hanging out off-duty with some mutual friends. He was wasted and waving his gun around at a public outside-free concert. He was also a jerk and really could have hurt someoneAn undercover patrol car sped up behind me on my bumper and my reaction was to speed up to get him off my bumper (of course, not knowing it was a cop), that put me closer to the car in front of me and the next thing I know I have a ticket for reckless driving. He was jerk too. I got busted for streaking a football field at night when there was no game. He let me put my clothes back on and gave me a ride home. He was not jerk. But, he was a campus police, so I'm not sure if he was a real cop. I carry- I'd have shot that bastard dead. Of course you would have. Shooting someone who didn't do a thing to you? You would have pleaded Stand Your Ground? It would have been murder, pure and simple, and you'd end up being Bubba's Boytoy. Or are you allowed to shoot someone for being an ass?

Depends, are we talking about Floriduh or a sane part of the country? You're right. I forgot Paul is in Floriduh.

And this is why a lot of us have very little respect for the police, and very little trust in the "system". I'm not a paranoid crazy that's able to rationalize murder, but if you're a cop, step one in making sure someone doesn't want to kill your ass is avoiding doing shit like this to people.

Shooting a drunken, belligerent asshole waiving a gun around and posing a DEADLY threat to EVERYONE within hundreds of yards. White Georgia Woman Shoots At People From Her Car, Aims Gun At Police And Does NOT Get Shot AUTHOR: STEPHEN D FOSTER JR DECEMBER 29, 2014 10:25 AM
A gun-wielding white woman in Georgia shot at people while driving her car, led police on a chase while continuing to fire bullets, and then aimed her gun at officers. So, she got shot and killed, right? Guess again. Julia Shields strapped on some body armor and drove around a neighborhood in Chattanooga shooting at people and property. “She was just casually holding a gun, and wearing a baseball hat,” witness Jennifer Clouse told the Times Free Press. “It was crazy. … This is a pretty quiet area. I saw the gun and said to myself, ‘I’m going to go inside.'” Shields then stopped in a parking lot until she was discovered there by responding police. Noticing the cops closing in, Shields escaped the parking lot and forced officers to chase her through the neighborhood. While speeding away, Shields continued to shoot at people in other vehicles with the police just behind her witnessing every shot. Shields came to a final stop at an intersection and then aimed her weapon at police officers, clearly endangering their lives and giving them justification to shoot her in self-defense. But they didn’t shoot her. They arrested her. Once again, white skin proves to be the ultimate factor in whether or not a cop will shoot someone. Shields wore body armor, nearly murdered several people and even pointed her gun at police and STILL didn’t get shot. If she had been black, the result would have been execution by cop. This is yet another instance of how police treat white people versus how they treat black people. As you’ll recall, police were quick to kill unarmed black men Michael Brown and Eric Garner. But this nut job in Georgia actually threatened officers with the gun in her hand that she had already fired at multiple people, and yet, police refrained from shooting and killing her on the spot. I’m not saying they should have killed her, but it’s clear that there is a double standard. As further proof of this double standard, let’s look at an incident that occurred in Idaho. Two men walked into a Walmart and took BB guns out of their packages and began shooting up the store. Police arrested them without firing a shot. In Ohio a few months ago, police shot and killed John Crawford III for merely waving a BB gun in the air in a store. The difference? The two Idaho men are white. Crawford was a black man. As further proof of this standard, when white gun nuts aimed their weapons at federal officials at the Bundy ranch in Nevada, police didn’t do a damn thing. Apparently, if you are white, you can wave a gun around and shoot it at all the people you want. You can even threaten police with it, and you won’t be shot and killed. But if you’re an unarmed black man, police will just shoot you dead no matter what you did or didn’t do. The woman in this story strapped on body armor, drove around the neighborhood shooting at people, and pointed her weapon at police officers. But her white skin saved her from being killed by police. This is just another example of why American police forces need to be heavily investigated and reformed. Because if police don’t think it makes sense to shoot a deranged white woman pointing a gun at them yet think it’s perfectly acceptable to shoot unarmed people of color, that’s a major problem that needs to be addressed swiftly. www.addictinginfo.org/2014/12/29/white-georgia-woman-shoots-at-people-from-her-car-aims-gun-at-police-and-does-not-get-shot/

My most memorable personal experiences with the police were..... talking with one and listening to him tell me that he and some of his coworkers take their time responding to "shots fired" calls in the hopes that the shooter is long gone by the time they arrive on the scene. So many things wrong with the things he was saying.
And one time I called the police because a guy and girl were fighting in a car in front of the house I use to live in. I waited for a couple hours for the police to show up. I had somewhere to go and I finally left the house, only to see about 5 cars at a car accident right around the corner from my home. They finally came to my door after I returned home. And yes, I had a slight attitude, one of them could have killed and buried the the other in all the hours that had passed.
On a good note, I once stopped at a stand alone ATM in a sketchy part of town because I needed one and there happened to be a police officer using the ATM. I mentioned to him that I only stopped there because I saw him and we had a short conversation about police presence making citizens feel a bit safer. He understood my concerns and stayed until I finished my transaction and drove off.
I've had to deal with police on other occasions, but I prefer not to, so I try to stay off their radar. I got 2 speeding tickets in 1 week, so I don't even speed anymore. Well, I don't speed much.

Never arrested. Of cops I interact: 80% of ego power trip jerks (some of young ones really bad) or more interested in a date than the crime. 20% care and trying to truly do right thing. Result is that I don't have very positive view of police.
