Thanks man. Do you know how I'd set someone to ignore?

I think you have to click on that person's profile and then you can select the ignore function. Anybody I know?

So, if we pulled some money off of the table prior to all of this stuff, we're in pretty decent shape to redeploy. The question is, where? Lots of stuff happening in Japan. Next weeks' oil and gasoline trading should be enlightening. Any thoughts on what should be on our stock shopping list guys?

I can't argue with those picks. I would be willing to bet that with the nuclear issues unfolding in Japan, issuing any new nuke permits here just got slapped back quite a few years. I'm thinking about nat. gas operations.

NG will be very good for any new Power Plants, burns pretty clean. US Oil stocks will be good since most of them bounced off their trend lines Friday. WLL, NOG, BEXP, CLR or a few US oil picks that should do well even if oil went down into the 70's, still would be growing around 40% for the year but if oil stays around 90, I think you can figure that one out for yourself. Hey ty. I bought some CHKM. I still have a gob of cash to put to work after pulling 55% out of mutual funds. The bulk of it will probably go to mid-caps when the dust settles.

It looks like he's trying to stay in 'his' threads so I'm gonna try and let bye-gones be bye-gones. Is that how you spell bye-gone? Seems odd. Be careful what you wish for w/Mid. Think of what you gained when you lost him. Good luck with the NG.

Frankq, I like CHK better than CHKM because of the price appreciation but the 6% yield on CHKM is nice to. It depends on your Risk you want to take.

Ok. New week. More news. As previously stated, my Yellow Alert light goes on when oil hits $105. We're now at $107+. I'm also seeing gasoline at $3.89 and diesel higher than that. Obviously, demand hasn't been the issue and speculation is ramped up, but the summer driving season is fast upon us and that won't help prices. Fuel costs will hurt margins across the board. QE2 is fast coming to an end. Caught a nice bump off of the last dip with some good timing both out and back in. I'm still all in, but I've employed stops across the board. My Spydee sense tells me to tread lightly at this level.......

Yeah, I know what you're saying. Though there are 'reasons' why, there's still a glass ceiling to this cyclical bull. I've still got some cash on the table, mostly from sales of underperformers (some large cap tech) and sale of SLV which, like Icarus, will find that it's not good to fly too close to the sun (shhhh, don't tell Deke). I've filled the void a little with uranium and natural gas.
I'd love to have the glass ceiling broken, but I'd rather wait until it happens than try to bet on a possibility. The rather wild abandon type of investing I did in my 40s and 50s don't cut it while now in retirement. I'll go with the efficient frontier and some good beta along with my Alpha Bits; waiting to see what the market will bring rather than betting on it.

That is great advice V! That is exactly what a large fund(50B) from Calgary that had a manager at a meeting I was at recently was saying their strategy is. It has work for 40 years for the lead guy there, he is in his 70's. I like to say, better to miss out on a little gain than gain a whole bunch of loss.
It's all about the capital reserves!

Nobody wants to talk to him about the fiat dollar since that horse has been beaten to dust, so he's here now.

Congress has got to set aside their partisan differences, get to serious work, and pass a 2-month emergency stopgap funding bill ASAP! This uncertainty isn't good for the markets.
Then they need to roll up their sleeves, tackle the Nation's business, make the hard decisions, and raise the debt ceiling enough to get us through the November elections.
Perhaps Obama's stern rebuke earlier today will goad them into action?

Congress needs to focus, gather their energy, and PUNT LIKE REGGIE ROBY! Maybe pass a 10-week emergency stopgap funding bill, then raise the debt limit enough to see us to 2012. Now THAT would be some hardcore action out of DC!
Cripes, where the Hell is Dick Cheney when you need him? And Hank Paulson? Who's gonna rally the troops? We got Biden & Geithner.
