What about one of the little herb garden kits. She can water them, watch them grow, and eventually help tear them up to use in meals. This sounds like an outstanding idea!!!

Oh, just got an email that the there is a 50% + free shipping sale on the aprons, code CYBERFLIRTY50 They have aprons for men, women, and kids--some are lined, some are not. The waist ties on the women's aprons are REALLY long to accommodate all sizes (I'm not little and they wrap around my waist). They tie around the neck too, so you can adjust that length as well. How long us the sale for?

I made fish tacos with my 4 year old nephew. Granted there is a big difference in 4 and 2 with what they can do. But I make homemade flour tortillas and let him help stir the ingredients then roll them out. He loved it.

Okay, I made the eggnog muffins. They are really good and ridiculously easy! My kind of baking! Now to try the truffles.

French toast batter is easy eggs, milk, spices. My brother's grandson made it at two his dad was a chef and he wanted french toast at grandpa's but to make him himself. Pancake mix and water with sprinkles of bacon or blueberries to make it fancy. Jiffy mixes for muffins only add one or two things like an egg and water or milk.
Here is a favorite of the tikes in my family. Sherbert and 7 up mixed in a punch bowl. The two year old who made french toast asked me if I a made that then told me I was "a good cooker" Ratio is half gallon sherbert to 2 liters 7up but you could make less. Raspberry is good for Christmas.

My 2-year old DS loves helping me cook. He has a two-step stool in the kitchen, and comes running in anytime I'm in there to help. Pancakes are one of his favorite things to help with, but I'll let him help stir and in ingredients for just about any recipe, I just don't let him do things at the oven or stove without super close supervision.
So all of this to say that I love the gift idea!
