People are flawed. You really don't know what was going on with her the day she hurried you off the phone. I know you are supposed to be polite at all times, but sometimes your raw emotions take over and getting through the day is paramount over the feelings of others. I totally get that you reap what you sow, and you are more than allowed to feel what you feel about the situation. But a single minute during a hard time in someone's life is probably not the best time to judge their whole being.

Pat, I'm from a HUGE extended family, with LOTS of cousins, most of whom I have never met. Differences in religion, heavy drinking of some (Aunts & Uncles), & unequal treatment by Grandparents (some kids were coddled, & some got thrashed for the same behaviors) has led to dysfunction, & while some of us reach out to each other now, there are those who will continue to be complete strangers to me.
