Virgil, I’m down for M2.
Taciturn Mensan said it best - perhaps I’d post more if I thought readers on this new Board might actually be interested in reading posts by people who actually live it, rather than the self-proclaimed GooglEducated (Google cut-and-paste – my emphasis) experts.
My work experience includes, but not limited to: Army draftee (remember back when they had the draft) and 54 engineering projects that involved – the Alaskan pipeline, Gitmo, 16 nuclear power plants, various fossil power plants, automotive, petro-chem, and most other companies that have a prime mover. The companies I contracted with included GE, ABB, Bechtel, most of the major US utilities, DOE, DOD, and even Enron (during the implosion, watched a VP pack his belongings into a Banker’s box and get escorted out of the building). Going on 6 decades, I’ve visited, lived and/or worked in 76 different countries.
Just as a side note – my personal COC includes not responding to any antagonistic postings/replies (I can still remember my father telling my mother, “When you argue with the kids, you bring yourself down to their level”) or to any poster who uses profanity as a substitute for a more intelligent word. I deal with enough true Vulgarians (John Cleese – A Fish Called Wanda) in NYC that I expect and will give a civil discourse in this forum.

I just changed my vote from M-3 to M-2. I love freedom but a few individuals just can't control themselves and their recent activity has persuaded me to change my mind. For the greater good of society these individuals have to be controlled!

I am new here but I voted accordingly: In medio stat virtus (M2).
That said, in the time I have spent here I have found some of the large, obnoxious photos to be sort of distracting and will chime in with those above who have requested some action regarding them.

OK. The poll has been out there long enough that we have a reasonable cross-section of MT sentiment.
The M2 vs. All Content schism is evident. As I alluded to before, the only "reasonable" compromise is a standard around M3.
I'll read over people's comments about specific content issues, confer with rovo, and then draft up an official MT constitution.
Given what has happened on the boards so far, we may have additional rules about threadjacking and about limiting goofy image content.
It's New Year's Eve tonight, and so expect the constitution in a few days. Thanks to all who voted, participated in the discussion, and who have been monitoring the threads for questionable content.

Hello everyone. Personally, given who the members are and the history we have together. I vote for M3. Its not like we'll have hundreds of new members being driven to us through the MSN front end and if anything, I think we know the behavior and writing styles and habits of this close knit community. Economics and markets and politics are all deeply interconnected and the most intelligent investors are studying and discussing all inputs to the model and in the modern world, all these parameters act together in semi-real time to effect today's market action and to guide our longer term investment strategies. By the way, how can we drive more traffic to this site? I vote M3, and I'd like to see a return of the M3 to the Fed's reports. www.duffminster.com/

Yeah, I remember silver. Out of the blue he sent me this long PM rant about how much of a scumbag I was. Hell, I hadn't posted to him or about him, but I guess something I posted sent him over the cliff. It wasn't near as good a rant as I gave ol' life, but he had his heart in it.
Now THAT was fuuuuunny!!!!!!!!

A lot of them post at Duffminster Times .com I've tried going over there a few times. Tough to navigate that 'board' (or is it blog?). Neo still has worthwhile things to say and O&G is still one of the smartest guys around. Miss reading them here in an 'easier' format.

Now THAT was fuuuuunny!!!!!!!! I would never waste my time writing a long PM in anger. A quick check on my outbox to make sure it wasnt some drunken tirade...nope not me. Must have been that other Silver guy. There have been a few that have been around using my surname.
