Maximum enlistment age for the Army is 42. Do you feel most 42 year olds have no experience in the "real world"? Yeah, the army is the exception on enlisting, but seriously how many do they enlist over the age of 30 that are not going in as officers with degrees.

And the word - in the context you used it in - isn't "descent," but rather decent.
Ouch!

Thank yoo fo' splaining two the solduers dat they has know knowludge of the reel wurld. I is happie that we has intellimogent and edumacated liberuls to exsplane how we is all branewashed idgits. Do you think there could be an age limit on "most of the armed forces" because of the physical nature of the job? As a taxpayer, do you really think enlisting 60-year olds is in your best interests? And the word - in the context you used it in - isn't "descent," but rather decent. Decent: suitable; appropriate: She did not have a decent coat for the cold winter.Last I checked reasonfreedom doesn't consider himself a liberal, but ok.

Not really. However my client Mr. fiscan can certainly tip a few back. Good thing he has someone of my competence working to counterbalance his unpredictable moves.

Wonder what these kids want to be when they grow up? If they grow up to be gay, mom's gonna have a stroke.

Libertarian/conservative here, I would of posted but I fell victim early to the same process loops and burns was in . Besides the fact that my eyes are still burning from the first paragraph, I will try to answer. Most people can be in great shape at age 60, if you knew anything about physical training and health you would take your comment back. My father was born in 1941 and he has more energy and strength than my 25 year old brother or me. My brother and I both use the P90X workout, needless to say I think Tony Horton is in better shape than I would guess 50% of 20 somethings that go into the army. I could go on, but I think I have provide enough proof.

It's interesting that some posters on here seem to have more tolerance for this view than they have for Americans who happen to affiliate with a different political party. Just because we can understand why someone might think the way they do doesn't mean we agree with them. The purpose of these boards is to have discussions covering these topics. Do you want me to hold your hand & tell you I understand your viewpoint & we can sing kumbayah? How about this - I understand some of the people with far right viewpoints on this board probably grew up in an environment where bigotry was acceptable & they learned to use scapegoats for the countries problems. They probably also grew up somewhat secluded & didn't meet many people from other cultures. So I really can't blame them for thinking that all muslims are evils & need to be kicked out of this country or for not being able to understand why children in Afghanistan might play suicide bomber. However, this doesn't mean that I at all agree with this perspective, I just can understand the cultural influences that led them to think this way. Is that better? And I want to point out that I don't by any means include all conservatives in the above statement. I know many conservatives that are open-minded & able to have a dialogue without resorting to statement like I am 100% wrong & unamerican or that my thinking is going to end this country. They just have views that happen to differ from mine & have the logic & ability to explain their views & I can respect that. Some of the most bigoted and intolerant people I've met are from multi-cultural areas; and there are many left leaning people I know who like to blame the rich for their problems....others like to get more racial in their blame. All the while the Democratic Party as a whole promotes these ideas and then tries to blast the right as intolerant. I especially love it when I hear some left wing blowhard talk about how a lot of rural counties are more conservative because of a lack of education and those [fill in the blank for a derogatory term for a person who lives in a rural area] just don't know what's good for them. Of course when you mention high crime inner city areas with a high drop out rate who vote primarily Democrat, they say that's different. Of course I understand that many left wing posters on here probably grew up in areas where nothing was ever their fault and they honestly believe that conservatives are just a bunch of rich racist who don't deserve what they have...what was that you were saying about scapegoats?

Maybe it was a nice little break but we need to get back to business and discuss how corrupt, thieving politicians should be executed.

The most hateful bigots I know are leftists. One guy in particular said to my face regarding school choice: "I like things just the way they are. I don't want a bunch of south side [Chicago] ni**ers sending their little ni**ers to MY kid's school."
Nice. Would it surprise you to know he also thinks Israel is "oppressing" the Palestinians, and wonders "why Israel is the only country on earth that gets to declare itself a nation out of the blue because of a 10,000 year old myth?"

Amen, Private Instigator. You have earned an exalt for that piece of work. Mark twain couldn't have said it better. Thanks, but I think you have myself and another poster confused. There is another poster with the name "PI."

Are you referring to something I said, because you were quoting my post? I have never said that people are more likely to be conservative because they are uneducated. There are educated & uneducated on both sides. Change the MANY in that sentence to SOME or A FEW & you are probably correct. There are undoubtably a few posters who do believe that, but not the majority, just like not a majority of the conservative posters are bigots. I am still waiting for ed to back up his statement that I pull the race card way to often....
