I think we had a bad year for trivial, constroversy and just plain unadulterated talking & absurd bubble heads on the news 24/7 & forced some to stop watching that stuff...

My vote goes to the Beck "Restoring Honor Rally" and the liberals going bonkers with their counter rally by Comedy Central..
Attendees and speakers from both sides showed up to protest and announce they were not crackpots or extremists but nobody bought that obnoxious nonsense.

I went with the Quran Burning story as the silliest story of the year. My rational is that the national media took a non-story and gave it significance by mentioning it.

Yea and the 9/11 Mosque thing is still in the news lately..so that may well spill over to 2011.. And don't forget all the threads that were started to complain to Kymberly and or the Mods about being banned or having a msg deleted....or someone failed to use Spell Check

"And don't forget all the threads that were started to complain to Kymberly and or the Mods about being banned or having a msg deleted.... I think traelin0 said it well: Ladies and Gents, At times we let the emotional side of us get the better. On the old boards, ALL of us have had our share of friction, "bad blood", "enemies", etc. I know several of the situations because I was there to see them. Personally, I feel ALL of you have a wealth of information to contribute. I truly mean that. Moonbeam has been gracious enough to give us this opportunity to reunite under a more liberal environment, but let's not push it. Let's also try our best not to push those "old board" buttons. If you have any concerns, questions, or comments regarding specific posts, please feel free to report it and I and the rest of the Mods will address it in the manner we deem to be appropriate. That will never happen here....Why?? Because long held grudges can vaster especially for those with emotional stability issues/ problems... ... And you will aways have s few here who actually enjoy stalking, taunting, and heckling because of feelings of inferiority and insecurity. Respect and courtesy is a two way street so when you see a guy constantly whinnying and complaining then maybe he watched two many Rodney Dangerfield movies and cannot realize he brought all that grief on himself for crapping over everyone her...

The Koran story got the minister more than his fifteen minutes of fame ever deserved.

I really thought that Nut Job Reverend was going to burn the Qurans but when he changed his mind for a chance to meet with the 9/11 Mosgue Imam you had to know it was a farce

RDT-I don't think the Rev ever thought it would escalate as much as it did and he got in over his head. I think he found himself backed into a corner and he had to make good on his threat to burn the Koran to escape his predicament. The meeting with the Iman was a way for the Rev not to lose face.

"Reverend" Jones is about a relevant as Snookie, however this incident does serve as a fine example of the (unintended?) consequences of ignorance backed by MSM attention.

Terry Jones and his threat to burn the Quran had @ 3,000 news stories during his fifteen minutes of fame.
And the more he got dumped on the more he loved it so he could grab a microphone and spew out his relgious nonsense that made no sense to me...He was just in it for the money and he did make a few bucks from those who paid that nutty reverend to speak to them

The thought of burning a Quran started a firestorm in this country. But yet we have more secularism today that is trying to do away with Christmas Religious Symbolism. Prayer in schools, bible teachings or discussion, are being shunned in some circles. Catholics who speak out about gay marriage or repealing Don't Ask Don't Tell are lambasted as fools by Code Pink, GLBT, and ActUp and have the priest molestation issues thrown in their faces. We saw some of this troubling trend to wards more secularism less religion when it was debated in the senate prior to voting to repeal DADT.

"...Prayer in schools, ..." Government officials giving religious instruction to children should be shunned in all circles.

VB you are right and I thought about that but we only have 8 0ptions and I could not find the key to adding more choices....and I tried to list the threads we had in 2010 on the P&M Message Board that were not only silly but ludicrous...IMHO ....Remember some were so silly they were deleted by the Mods. ie. lambasting Crystal Palin, Doc Laura, and one that was addressed to Kymberly to have me permanently banned for being tooooooooo pro military since I started a thread to honor our fallen on Memorial Day that pissed off my nemesis and his fans. If that is not anti-military then I guess I don't know what is??
So I added the infamous "none of the above" so guys with better memories than me can add their picks....the birther thing is a dam good one though and maybe the Charley Rangle Supporters threads by our die hard liberals was rather stupid that tried to change the subject to republicans who screwed the pooch in congress.

If someone had actually made horse-like noises for being banned, I would've voted for that category. Why shouldn't they lambaste the Catholics? Should they just sit meekly by while being "put in their place" by an organization harboring hundreds of child molesters? Incidentally, just how many arrests have been made in all of those cases? Why are they not in jail like any other "ordinary" pedophile?

And you know they are not sitting meekly by but rather just the opposite as you have stated previously

I had to go with none of the above because I thought all the liberal obsession with starting Palin bashing threads was quite funny.

Did we have any separate threads in 2010 bashing Bush? VB?? I know Wilbur 1 started one about every three or four days from 2001 to 2009 just to bash Bush until he crossed the line and was asked to turn in his hate Bush Club Membership key for fouled and abusiveness

It just was used in their arguments somewhere on the threads, so I guess I am wrong on this issue.

And you if get a+ 20 Karma you will get an atta boy from the lovely and vivacious Ms Moonbeam....according to my unreliable sources again who have not been too accurate this year as in previous years
Oh oh I just lost some Karma again....that has to be a newbie Mod who doesn't like my attitude towards Mods

The REAL story behind the "Koran burning" was (of course) ignored by the liberal media, but it was the implicit threat (in some cases explicit) that if a Koran was burned, Muslims would react with violence. THIS was the real story, that a person's freedom of speech would be supressed out of fear of reprisal by a violent and ideological culture...I guess that escaped those who get their information from Jon Stewart and Keith Olbermann...
