There are always loop holes, things that get by , just because some times Sxxx happens , but when it happens with the government , it really adds up, the sxxx seems to have a life of it's own. Is it because of the systems, checks and balances , old computer programs, not enough{heaven forbid} workers? This one is now at $125 Billion..thats with a capital B. Tea Partiers , were are you when we need you? I wonder if they go after these folks when caught? ----------------------------------------------------- DAILY DELANEY DOWNER - The Government Accountability Office reported today that the government improperly spent $34.3 billion on Medicare, $22.5 billion on Medicaid, $17.5 billion on unemployment benefits (partly because of claimants who have returned to work and continue to claim benefits!), and $16.9 billion under the Earned Income Tax Credit. "Reported estimated improper payments government wide have steadily increased over the past decade from an estimated $20 billion in 2000 to approximately $125 billion in 2010," the GAO said. That's a government wide error rate of 5.5 percent

I'm not sure why you would post something like this. All this waste comes off the top of all the socialist programs you covet. This amounts to what has proven to be fraudulent. Imagine how much more of the same goes on undetected. This is why all these programs and more should be shut down completely along with all the government staff that goes along with it. The ones that truly need whatever they are handing out will just have to get help some other way. Government cannot do anything right and that is a fact. They are the employer of losers where probably 80% of them would end up on welfare if their charity case job was eliminated.

Some would call your remarks idiotic....I wouldn't though, I do have a few other words in mind though but there is always that C of C you have to think about. I realize that it is a bit much for you to understand but a $125 Billion waste is a bit much, even for "socialistic " programs. The thing is these socialistic programs keep my fellow Americans eating, being able to keep warm, see Doctors to cure their illnesses and so many more programs for their well being. To have this much slack, there will always be some, but this much, it's unconscionable and unacceptable, whether it's good times or bad but especially in times like this. It's not just this administration, it's been going on for years. It's not brought up by those who we elect, they just play the game , have hearings, I wonder if they ever have hearings on this? I also wonder if the figure is correct..it , article , did say Billion, Million would be bad enough but Billion. {geez} Back to you Burns, just once , it would be nice to see you post something that wasn't a wise ass idiotic remark that ads nothing to anything, but I guess that's not your thing is it.

What are you talking about? Have you now even lost your ability to read and comprehend? (writing is a lost cause as anyone here can confirm) I responded to your post concerning the fraud that goes on in these socialist programs by saying they should be completely shut down. If you think that is "idiotic" then too bad. It will be the final option one day anyway so get used to the idea. And don't worry about the "CoC" with me. It isn't hard to win an intellectual battle with an unarmed man.

mmm , I still think this one is a biggie..we are talking about $125 BILLION that has been paid out to those who shouldn't get it..Example : Some one who has gotten a job but still puts in for their unemoloyment, , all done by computer today, phone call and pushing buttons, no more face to face, and continues to get their checks and similer fraudiant happenings and it costs us BILLIONS per year. The tea party is angry with Republicans and threatening them that they may be replaced as candidates in the next election if they don't shape up, because they have only come up with suggested davings of $61 BILLION instead of the hope ful $100 BIllion they wanted as the least amount saved and here is $125 BIllion just sitting there, as a basically a waste. No comments, no out rage? As known, I'm a supporter over all of the current president and granted this waste has been happening for decades but STILL,,,heres a shot, a leitimate one for a change and against his party, he's in office, his buck stops here and no one to take a shot here. The unholy seven, what wrong with you? Possible, to much partying ??

If you add in the welfare fraud then you are probably at $500 BILLION. That's nearly 1/2 trillion . It doesn't really make any difference at all. It gets money out there into the public's hands and boosts the economy.

Not talking about wheter one feels aid, assistence is good , bad...this is just pure illegal screw up that are not caught, $125 BILLION..the other we can argue about, should we or shouldn't we on the aid ..but this??Unforgivable, it's if the article is correct is in the BILLIONS. One billion dollers is , $1,000,000,000....and we are talking about $125,000,000,000.

Gee, I didn't know it was so easy to provide a vibrant economic atmosphere. Just give money away. Sounds great!

<<< There are always loop holes, things that get by , just because some times Sxxx happens , but when it happens with the government , it really adds up, the sxxx seems to have a life of it's own. >>> ...agreed... much like a simple addition error at the beginning of a math problem can throw off the whole word problem... or a small navigational error can throw you off course by miles by the end of the journey... and so I don't think it's a shock tactic to point our that we are hemorraging... ...and while I recognize that the US is a consumer driven economy so this spending has a dubious benefit, I think that should be "fixed," too...

I agree it probably does help the economy temporarily over all, but what if it is going to killers, child molestors and drug users. Does it matter how it is helping the economy as long as it does?

Tou want to really get an eye full just check up on how much is spent on duplicate programs in government, military and state government. No wonder we are bleeding money. I have a neighbor who is 62 and retired so now he is mowing grass for a land developer paid for by a government grant to provide part time employment for seniors. Unbelieveable.
