'F**k It, I Quit' Anchor Explains Her Dramatic Exit09/22/2014 3:50 pm EDT WARNING: Video inside spoiler is UNCENSORED - Language may be Unsafe For Work One more time: Language may be Unsafe For Work
The local news anchor who dramatically quit her job on air following a segment on marijuana, explained her exit in a YouTube video released Monday. Charlo Greene, a reporter for Anchorage's KTVA, announced on air that she would be leaving her job at the TV station to focus on marijuana legalization in Alaska. “Everything you've heard is why I, the actual owner of the Alaska Cannabis Club, will be dedicating all of my energy toward fighting for freedom and fairness, which begins with legalizing marijuana here in Alaska," she said. "And as for this job, well, not that I have a choice but, f--k it, I quit." More here: WEBPAGE LINK - Huffington Post

Is it safe to assume she has a 'No' rehire status?

i doubt that impulsivity is a problem for pot users. lethargy is more typical.

Sadly, it pretty much was legal until the politicians and the drug war got involved back in the nineties.

Sadly, it pretty much was legal until the politicians and the drug war got involved back in the nineties. It was the 50's when the federal laws against pot were instituted. Min Mandatory sentence was 2-10 years and fine of up to $20k. It was '73 when DEA was formed. It was '86 when Bush started the new war on drugs, It was '96 when Cali Legalized medical. It was the '30s that saw the big "against" weed push. www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/shows/dope/etc/cron.html

It's true it started back then, but it had really begun to relax in the 70s, and wasn't ratcheted back up till the 90s, I believe.
Micahel Pollan has a great bit on Canibus in Botany of Desire... Very interesting read/listen.

If she's pushing to legalize it for medical use it's one thing, but if she's pushing legality for recreational use, good luck to her .
She needs a theme-song to go along with her rant:

A Constitutionally protected right. It is one hell of a legal roller coaster in that state.
Otherwise known to pro-drug war politicians and the GOP as judicial activism The very idea that a free person should be allowed to grow and consume a plant on their own property without government intrusion- how dare they- and damn the communist ACLU for taking the case.

If she's pushing to legalize it for medical use it's one thing, but if she's pushing legality for recreational use, good luck to her . she doesn't really need luck. it is already legal for recreational use in two states, and it used to be legal for recreational use in Alaska.

Legality for recreational use is coming. when that happens, the budget for enforcement of the remainder of drug laws will double.

Guess what though... the budget for prosecuting and incarcerating recreational marijuana users will drop to ZERO. And taxes from sales of marijuana will increase tremendously (well... you can't put a "percentage increase" on something that didn't previously exist).

The Gov't managed to legalize Alcohol and make it taxable - as well as tax regular tobacco - why not do the same for marijuana too, as long as the product is "out there" already - might as well make it legal .
There were would be more regulation as to its manufacture - and less harmful chemicals involved in its growing and cultivation. At present there are toxic gases being used in some hydroponic operations that are deadly. Not to mention the underground drug operations.
Remember Prohibition in the 30's when they banned alcohol? It caused more problems and crime than when it had been legal. Think Elliot Ness, during Al Capone's and other gangsters' reign in organized crime back then.

And we will have more stoned people driving cars. Nice. Given the option... I'd rather have someone stoned behind the wheel than someone drunk behind the wheel. Q: You know what a stoned person does at a stop sign? A: Waits for it to turn green.

no, it will double if it goes up 0%. read again. carefully. edit: i gave you an assist by bolding the key word. I did read it. Quite carefully. I understood your point. I just think it's flawed, because anti-pot enforcement is NOT half of the budget of the DEA. So... unless there is a MAJOR increase in the overall budget, then it CAN'T "double". ETA: and even if 1/2 the DEA's budget WAS for anti-pot enforcement (it's not, but let's just pretend), that's definitely not true for all narcotics divisions of law enforcement branches/departments. And your statement wasn't limited to the DEA, your statement (in it's entirety) was:
