www.thewheelerreport.com/releases/February11/0217/0217barrett.pdfIf you skim just a bit..don't read the whole thing..I can't cut past from this article, you will come to the place were the police, fire and another union are exempt from the adding and paying fair share of their pensions, increase their contributions to the medical insurance and of course, their collective bargaining rights are still left intact. These are the unions who supported the governor in his bid for election. I am trying to understand all this here so would some one from the camp of the governors supporters here , who are fine with the governess going after the Teachers Union right to collective bargaining please explain why the gander but not the goose. OK for teachers to lose those rights, they have given in on the contributions to heath insurance and increasing their costs on pensions but the police, fire and another union, all have supported him for election , it's fine for them to be exempt from these contributions and the collective bargaining right, they keep those too.

I just had a thought..why is the governor negotiating on teachers and even with the police and fire, aren't they under local contracts with the cities , townes..that hire them. All teachers wouldn't get the same pay would they? Wealthy townes pay more then poorer, how does the Governor get involved , is it a state wide contract? Police, i could see the State police, though he did give them a bye..but don't understand why he is th lead man here.
