Another brick in the left-wing wall of fascism... SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — The Illinois attorney general says state police must release the name of everyone in the state who is authorized to own a gun. Illinois state police determine who gets a Firearm Owners Identification card, which allows people to own guns. The police have always kept the list private. But Attorney General Lisa Madigan's public access counselor released a letter Monday night saying the information should be public. www.chicagotribune.com/news/chi-ap-il-gunowners-disclos,0,5686959.story

What's the problem with this. I've read posts by several of you advocating having a gun for protection, and postulating that criminals would be less likely to commit crime against those who do have guns. I'd think making the list public would make the gun owners much more safe.

A better use of govt resourses would to post lists of all state residents receiving any form of govt assistance and/or welfare.

Perhaps a listing of all campaign and lobbyist contributions to every state and federal elected official would be enlightening.

Very bad idea.

I agree it's a bad idea, but I think the state already requires the card in order to legally purchase the gun. Of course, like all other anti-gun legislation, this does absolutely NOTHING to deter criminals from obtaining and using guns...

Your guns don't own anything that could be robbed from them. Now, if you're worried about your house being burglarized, that could happen anyway. Most house-breakers are looking for money and valuables. Guns, if found, are gravy. Also, when is the last time you heard of anyone being shot and killed with a vibrator? When you pull stuff like that out, you destroy any credibility your post might have.

Maybe I'm being obtuse, but what is the reason for making this info public? What is the argument for the purpose it will serve?

Because the left-wing AG wants it that way. BTW, she is the daughter of a longtime Democrat Chicagoland thug politician Michael Madigan...

If you've got to come up with some off-the-wall scenario to make your point, you probably don't have much of a point. That speaks to credibility.

Vibrators don't shoot so when you pull stuff , oh...just read above... Alex Mijtus, 36 years old, was killed by his wife, armed with a 20 inch long vibrator. Mrs Mijtus had had enough of her husband's strange sex practices and one night during a prolonged period of "fun" she snapped, pushing all 20 inches of the vibrator into Alex's anus until it ruptured several internal organs and caused severe bleeding.

La petit mort is a metaphor for orgasm. Its literal translation, in French, is the little death.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_little_deathLa petite mortFrom Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (Redirected from The little death) Jump to: navigation, search For other uses, see La petite mort (disambiguation). "Little Death" redirects here. For other uses, see Little Death (disambiguation). La petite mort, French for "the little death", is a metaphor for orgasm. More widely, it can refer to the spiritual release that comes with orgasm or to a short period of melancholy or transcendence as a result of the expenditure of the "life force", the feeling whereof is caused by the release of oxytocin in the brain after the occurance of the orgasm. Literary critic Roland Barthes spoke of la petite mort as the chief objective of reading literature. He metaphorically used the concept to describe the feeling one should get when experiencing any great literature.

Or how 'bout.... Gloucestershire woman, 30, died of sudden heart arrhythmia
A 30-year-old woman sudden's death while watching internet pornography was probably due to her state of sexual excitement, an inquest was told.
Nichola Paginton, a childrens nanny, was found dead in bed last October with pornographic material running on her laptop. The first, I'll give you, is murder by vibrator. A rare occurrance, I'd think! The second example shows no evidence a vibrator was involved. My point still stands.
