This is the afghan I hope to get done this Fall/Winter - it's a new design I haven't done yet, so getting into the routine of working the pattern may take a few day - I've already purchased the yarn - in the same colors as the pic - wish me luck.
If/when I get started, I'll post progress pics - Hopefully it will only take a month or two to complete:

That's pretty, SL. I did one similar to that years ago, but it didn't have the lacy dividers between the swirled patterns. Mine was a deep red. That thing lasted for years. In fact, I think my daughter still has it!

That looks like a wonderful project SL. I love how delicate it looks. I quilt, and I love doing the hand sewing on them during the winter.

So true - that's what I did when I was making a large one a few years ago - it wasn't done in panels like that one, which you do separately then join together - but was continual rows of a repeated pattern design.
As the afghan started getting longer, I could drape it over my legs as I was working on it. Makes for a dual-purpose winter hobby.

Yes - that's an enlargement (close-up) of the same pic - showing the detail of the design.

I'm just plain impressed with anyone having the patience to do this. They are both really pretty. My EX SIL made us afghans back when I was married and I still have one of them.

Very pretty throw, MarleyKeezy78. Crochet can be very relaxing and you come out with something usable in the end.

Very pretty throw, MarleyKeezy78. Crochet can be very relaxing and you come out with something usable in the end. For some folks. I have tried it and believe me it brings out the worst in me But turn me loose on stripping, staining and anything to do with refinishing and I am in heaven!!

Pretty SL. Probably great for those nights where you don't want a full afghan. I don't expect I'll have the patience to make an afghan until I am in my 80s or so, but I do appreciate the ones people have made me.
I still have my pink and blue one made for me as a child, possibly a congratulations on your first Optimist baby, gift and a nice off-white one I think made by my XH's Mom. Use it all the time. And a Blue one made in panels. Some of the panel to panel stitching is fraying so I don't use it as often, but it often lives in the LR during fall, winter and spring.

This is the red one I made years ago (back in the 80s, I think). It's still going strong despite many, many washings and many, many cats. I used a heavier yarn, though, and made some adjustments to minimize the lace effects:

It helps me have patience. I get really bored watching tv or waiting anywhere. A knitting project helps keep my hands busy so my mind can settle. And I read while watching TV

Grrrr! Got me interested and curious, so I went lookin'. Found my winter project, dammit! I didn't need a winter project! I'll use different colors (greens, beiges, rusts), though.

Kinda reminds me of a mandala, Jaguar. It's big, so it'll give me plenty to do when it's cold outside.

I absoluletly LOVE both of those, mmhmm - the colors for Cathedral Rose stained glass one are perfect!
The design of the red one is really pretty too - I'd probably do that in a pastel - like a baby blue or lavender.
Opti, that peach colored one I did is actually quite large - it can cover a double bed. I just took a new pic of it - which also shows the color a bit better - the other pic was a bit washed-out:

That's what I thought it looked like as well. I think the colors you chose are gorgeous, add a wee bit of blue somewhere and ya got a hit.

mmhmm , I was able to purchase that Cathedral Rose stained-glass pattern/instructions through Annie's crochet - (the download/print PDF version) for $6.95.
I just finished printing out the pattern. Thank you SO MUCH for showing that one. (As if I don't have enough projects on the go now or waiting in the wings to get started on).
The pattern will go into my "To Do" file.

The yarns for this one will have to wait for me - I just recently bought all the yarn for the blue & white one in the OP.

I'm looking online for an outfit, I have a Franklin Mint Littlest Gibson Girl porcelain doll, named Victoria, she's 17 or 18 inches tall depending what site you look on. I washed her very fine outfit, it's still nice, but it's sheer off white/cream color. I think she needs a new outfit.

Put a thin, colored satin ribbon around her waist to give the outfit a bit of color - like a purple or lavender or pink or blue. If her outfit is "Victorian", you want to keep her vintage looking as possible.
