After having a 15 minute conversation with you? and is there a disconnect with how you really are?
I think that people would describe me as reserved, polite, and depending on the subject slightly neurotic. I think that people will think that I'm intelligent and educated. I think that people will think that I'm uptight, proper and conservative and maybe unsure of myself. perhaps a bit of a snob too.
The only disconnect would be that I swear like a sailor and I'm very liberal in many ways but I look very conservative.

Seriously, it's blind man and the elephant here... Depends on the circumstances, environment, my day and mood, 20 minutes isnt much.

Is it odd that I don't really have an answer? 10 years ago it would have been that I have quiet & shy, but I've kind of lost that. In the first 15 minutes I am probably more agreeable & more about the small talk, than with people I know well.

Unless we quickly find some common ground to discuss, I'm not going to have much to say other than small talk. I don't do new people well

Well if we're going by the survey lady from last week then I'm a bitch.
I had an extremely busy work week and was trying to get out the door when she showed up. The last thing I wanted to do was take an hour long survey. She wouldn't shut up and just kept pestering me despite me saying multiple times I don't have time so I ended up getting nasty with her.

To my face or behind my back? I've always heard: Friendly, outgoing, warm, down to earth, inspiring (strangers tell me I inspire them to do certain things like take up gardening or decorate something similar to what I've done), funny - stuff like that. I have a somewhat new friend who recently told me that I calm her and that she feels calm and safe being around me. I can honestly say I don't recall anybody ever saying that about me. LOL! After they get to know me better they probably think: Annoying, loud, cusses too much, hyper, tells it like it is and bitchy. I would say they'd all be right.

No thank you. Goodbye. hangup.
She was on my porch. She wouldn't get off my porch and her bike was blocking my sidewalk.
Should have just slammed the door in her face but I at least try to be polite on occasion.

I'm an introvert - therefore invisible to 'strangers'. I'd be forgotten shortly after the long pause following the introductory "Hi!".

Friggen awesome. And that comes pretty close, though doesn't quite describe the full reality. I would let it slide.

I have ZERO idea how YM would describe me. (not trying to open a can of worms here . . . just responding to the question!)

And I certainly wouldn't be anything but neutral with a stranger. So I guess the answer would be nondescript? perhaps mildly pleasant. LOL. I aspire to people describing me as mildly pleasant!!!

Lol, I don't need to know what YM thinks of me, if at all. As far as strangers and my general interaction with them, I would hope "delightfully sarcastic" or "amusingly bitchy" would come to mind.

It's hard to say.
I think there is some disconnect between what people see of me and how I really am, but it's hard to put into words.
I would probably come across as extremely reserved and conservative. I don't do "chit chat" or "small talk" that well, and honestly prefer listening in conversations than talking.
Because of my Asperger's, I don't often communicate body language very well. As a result, I think a lot of people have a hard time knowing if I'm joking or not. So if I'm teasing someone in a playful manner, it may not come across as such due to not following proper body language.
As a result, I really don't "joke" much in real life. And I'm always careful what I say because, as I said, experience has shown that sometimes things aren't communicated properly and people get upset or offended. So I come across as pretty reserved, maybe uptight.
It's not as much of an issue in internet posting, since body language is not part of the equation.
So the "disconnect" is I'm probably more laid back and have a sense of humor that others may not see. But I think it takes a special someone to 'get" me, and it takes time for my guard to drop.

After having a 15 minute conversation with you? and is there a disconnect with how you really are? 99% of the time they will think I am a bitch or rude or arrogant or a snob Whether there is a disconnect or not depends for the most part if I liked you or not.

I often wondered this - how the collective of the board would describe me because I read and post here while at work, so I certainly can't read and respond to every topic that interests me which makes me wonder how I'm viewed or taken since there's only a small part of me that is shown here. Also, if that opinion is based on the threads I do participate in (which would only make sense) then the opinion would be skewed or limited because there are many things I'd like to comment on but don't have the time. Interesting question...

The last descriptor that was related to me by a friend after meeting a new acquaintance at a gathering was taciturn. That probably fits. I don't much care for parties and the obligatory social chit-chat that is expected.
If I'm at work it would probably be polite, reserved and helpful. If you're trying to sell me something on my own time, it would probably range from raging bitch to brusque. If I'm running errands it's probably distracted and rushed. If it's doing something I really enjoy and feel comfortable doing, it's probably quietly enthusiastic with a dry, sarcastic sense of humor.

In person, probably quiet, reserved, and maybe aloof. Short. Stocky.

I've heard a zillion different first impressions of me. None of them can encompass the complicated ball of awesomeness that I am.
Last week someone I have known for years said she would never have imaged me as a person who blows up in anger at work. I think a lot of people simply don't pay attention, or at least see what they want to see.
I think some people want to see a person they like, because I radiate fun. Some people want to see a person they do not like, because I am so beautiful their jealousy drives them insane.
Edit** (Okay, I don't believe a word of that last paragraph - I thought it would be funny, but if you think I'm serious, then I appear to be a pretty excellent jerk!)
