I have been doing a very good job of following my budget this month. Partly because it is too hot to shop, and also because I am doing an eat-from-the-pantry month. I want to get stuff used up before I do my big winter stock stock up in late September. That is usually an expensive shopping trip, but it does pay off in the long. I am just lucky I have storage space.
I am walking more everyday. I went to lunch Saturday with friends for our monthly meet-up and walked in and out of the restaurant CARRYING my cane but not using it. It is more and more just a "security blanket" when I go out. If I had known how successful this procedure was going to be I would have done it a couple of years ago.
I need to get off my butt and do some laundry and clean up the kitchen. Hope you are all doing well.

I haven't paid for that hoagie from the boy scout and I've asked his mom to stop by work and I would pay her. I don't know where she lives and I don't have her phone.

Update: 12 nsd and 6 csd as of 7/23. I have no idea what today brings.
Still here and trying to get several things finished before I return to work next week. Cannot believe that I will return to school next week. Seems that I haven't had as much down time and I wonder where my summer disappeared. I am sure that everything will not be finished before the school year begins but I have made headway with a lot of things. I have been somewhat successful in working through the items in the freezer/pantry. I do dread the upcoming restocking trips as I know they will be costly. Some I will begin in the next few weeks but the big freezer won't even begin until after the major hurricane danger timeline had past. Started this process after the losses due to extensive electrical outages after Katrina.
I have been somewhat more successful on the beading. Several detailed projects completed and more in progress. Between all the rain and the heat I have been inside a lot and used the time to bead and to nap with a little housework/organizing/decluttering thrown in for good measure. I have not done much prep for the upcoming school year but will be kicking this up as it gets closer. I have picked up items that I knew would be needed. One on my friends was getting rid of items that I could use in the classroom for organization so I took those off her hands -- free storage bins. Also a few bulletin board items have been purchased. Have an area set aside where I am placing these items until they make the trip to school. Be glad to get them there and out of my house.
I have only one more medical test -- tomorrow -- so I will be glad when that is over as well. I have started with a personal trainer this month. I really need to have someone oversee my work with weights as I don't want to hurt myself.
Need to run

I bought supper for Sunday night and Monday's lunch. Monday will hopefully be a CSD because I ran out of bread and DS was to bring me a loaf home when they got groceries. He didn't remember so now I have to buy a loaf.

My TV is dying. I have done an online search and found the one I want to buy, but I don't want to buy it until Saturday because my CC billing statement starts each month on the first. I hate spending big amounts of money but once I have made up my mind to do it I hate waiting to do it. But by waiting a few days I will push my payment off an extra month which will be a better month to deal with a big payment. It is so LONG to wait!
I hate to have to get a new TV. The old one is only 18yo. I can only hope the new one will last 18 years. I also hate to have to start August with a really BIG spend day!
Any ideas for an August name.

Adjust Spending in August? Never gave it much thought yet but it is 3 days away.

Update: 16 nsd and 6 csd --
I'm still getting things done. Today was a total spend day as I had to go to WallyWorld where I stocked up on basics and added a few additional items to the basket -- all wants not needs -- so I can't count it as a CSD. Total bill was $$$. I have been putting this tripmore to off all summer and was beginning to feel like Mother Hubbard. Still have several other items to get but I can and will put them off until this charge is paid off.
I finally finished the major beading project that I have been working on -- only one more incomplete project to work on. Giving myself a few days before I start back on that one.
I go back to school at the end of this week. This summer has flown by.
