Whitman had a glioblastoma. My SIL just died of the same tumor. They become quite out of it and irrational, depending on where in the brain the tumor is located. Victim's thought processes can be, and usually are, disrupted. I don't think he would have cared if folks had bazookas.

As I have been saying-- wish someone had a weapon to bazooka that guy to pieces before he killed so many others. It's all speculation. You guys want to say guns bad... I want to say what IF... One thing is FOR SURE. Someone WITH a gun is going to kill someone WITHOUT a gun in a life and death match 99% of the time.

Truly a lovely human being and she is missed but all of us.

I had a run-in with a brain-tumor scare myself. I have a rare eye disease called pseudo-tumor cerebri that looks just like a brain tumor initially. I was stunned to discover brain tumors are not at all as rare as I had thought, and when they do show up, it's not usually a headache that is the warning sign, but difficulties with sight. In some cases, it personality changes are among the first symptoms, or the ones family and friends notice, first.

There's really nothing left to debate. If students are allowed to carry concealed weapons on campus, campus violence will drop precipitously. Break ins, muggings, and rapes will decrease dramatically- maybe even cease for all intents and purposes. We had this debate in the 1970's and 1980's. In the 1990's the 40 states that currently have a concealed carry started enacting those laws, and things got better.

I'm glad it wasn't a tumor - have they treated the pseudo-tumor cerebri?

Rape attempt..ok if a woman is carrying..can get it out quick enough, not taken and used on her...weaopon fired on campus, misses everyone, perp runs away..all ok, all safe[phew] oops..shucks , missed bullet kept going, into a dorm, into a kid studying at her desk, exam tomorrow..well she'll have a excuse to miss it [shucks] These things are not toys..it's not a joking matter..the scenarios I played out..they happen. It's a joke and macho thing , until possible it happens to you or yours..the accident, the bullet off some where.

...or the bullet from the gangbanger cruising the campus looking for trouble shoots one kid at the volleyball court as an initiation rite, the responsible gun owner walking back from a late class pulls his gun out and shoots the gangbanger, and the kid in the dorm studying does not get hit....
