Nope, too short and don't weigh enough/strong enough to not drop the bike.

Off topic....... Last week a co-worker asked if I was interested in learning to drive a boat on one of my days off work. Is that the correct terminology, do you "drive" boats? He wanted to go water skiing and doesn't always have someone for the boat. I've never had a desire to be anywhere near a boat, but I'm trying to be more adventurous, so I agreed. It rained, so we didn't go. Then a few days later, I get to work and I see his boat behind his SUV. He was planning to go straight to the water when he got off work. No water skiing, just hanging out. I'd never seen his boat and my silly self was thinking it was a little bitty boat when I'd agreed to learn to drive it. The boat wasn't humongous, but it sure wasn't little. It's big enough to have a small cabin. I wonder how I would've reacted if I'd showed up last week and saw THAT'S what I was suppose to be learning on. LOL! Sorry, I know that has nothing to do with motorcycles! I think this guy likes you.
You should learn to drive the boat - it will be fun. But (not to be a Debbie Downer, just relating the facts here) you really need 3 people to safely water ski. One to ski, one to drive and one to "watch". You can redneck it with 2, but that means you're not being very safe and will have to keep looking behind you while driving fast in forward - not really safe. Don't let him talk you into waterskiing with just 2. But do hang with him on the boat and learn to drive.

No. A few months after I got my DL I was a witness to a fatal motorcycle accident.
The guy wasn't wearing a helmet. It was very graphic.
I have no desire to drive or be on one, and as long as DH wants to be married to me, neither does he!

milee, I know, he explained that you need 3 people. Apparently more people are willing to "watch", lounge or ski than drive so if you're willing to learn, he's willing to teach you so he can get in the water sometimes. I definitely don't want to get in the water. EEK! If he asks again, I'll go.

When I was 17 I asked dad for a horse since we had moved to the country and he told me when I was 11 if we moved to the country I could have one. He said wouldn't you rather have a motorcycle, I didn't want a horse or a motorcycle I was just asking. Dad explained motorcycles didn't need a barn or hay and asked what kind I wanted. I didn't choose since I didn't really want one. One night he took the family to town for ice cream and on the way home stopped at a closed motorcycle store. One bike was out front, he took the key out of his pocket and drove it home. That night he taught my 16 year old brother and I to ride it. The next morning I wreaked it a little bit. We shared that bike my senior year since we were in the middle of nowhere then dad got me a car and made me give my half the bike to my brother.
Next bike was a birthday gift when I turned 34 from my ex a few months before I divorced him. He said to pick out whatever I wanted so I got a nice one, let him keep it in the divorce. ISO had a Harley but I don't want one.

Yes, and I have an 883 sportster. I am not a great rider, but still learning. I love it!

I learned back in high school, but I didn't keep it up. I'm just too scared to try and negotiate Denver traffic on a bike. If we ever move back to a small town, I might consider getting a smaller bike.

that's new to me to hear 'drive' a motorcycle I took the written and rode test and passed - rented a scooter I have my motorcycle license in New Jersey However never rode a motorcycle. don't want to own one - I have a car (manual shift) and a SUV (automatic) would rather rent one from time to time but I have no idea that motorcycles could be rented - sports bike here I am with a license and if NOT all the guys I know, but very close to all of them ride without having a motorcycle license.

Definitely not something I can do. Of my friends with bikes/licenses none of them ride around here. Traffic is just insane.
My brother test drove that super fast Suzuki bike. When he looked down and had topped 120 without running through all the gears he downshifted and took it back to the dealer. At least he realized he didn't need something that fast. A car dealer friend of his had taken it in as part of a trade. He told the guy he didn't need it either.
Maybe I've been sheltered but I don't know of anyone seriously injured in a bike wreck. I know people killed in car wrecks or badly injured but not on bikes.

Tried to drive a moped when I was younger and crashed into the side of my grandmas house, so no I do not know how and have no desire to learn. I can just barely ride a pedal bike so I know my limits

I would like to learn, but I feel no idea to ride one on a regular basis. It's just a good skill to have.

The Hayabusa is gorgeous!!! GSXR is fast but I find the seat too square and uncomfy plus it's a little too tall and I can't get my feet flat on both sides, so not safe for me.
I the rice grinders.

I've had a couple of CBR 600RRs, a Ducati 848 and I currently own a Triumph Daytona 675. The Hondas were by far the most reliable, I absolutely hated the Ducati (although I still think the 848/1098 is a gorgeous bike), and the Triumph is by far the best to ride. What a phenomenal bike.
With that said I am trying to sell the Triumph and I am retiring from riding. Those types of bikes just make you do stupid things and after a couple recent close calls I'm kinda done with it.

The Italian bikes really are gorgeous. Ducati, Aprilia (sp?), Motoguzzi (sp?), but that whole automatic, spring loaded kickstand thing looked like a bad idea to me. I'd be that idiot that straightened the bike for a minute, forgot the kickstand was spring loaded and went to gently rest it down again... dropping my (used to be) gorgeous bike on the pavement.

Hayabusa was what he tried out. It was fun but he was smart enough to realize that for him and the guy who owned it, going that fast that quickly and easily was only going to end one way with one of them doing something stupid. The guy kept it for a little while and concluded my brother was 100% correct and sold it. Nothing good will come from those guys having a bike that cruises easily at 120 mph without them really having to work through the gears to get there.

I'm a Street Fighter rider when on the road. I have a GSXR 750 that I use for track days, but I don't like riding them on the road over here. Full on sports bikes these days are so hard sprung and the road surfaces in the US are too rough to use them for commuting comfortably. I ride an FZ1 for my daily commute and love it

Nope. I highly doubt that I am strong enough to drive anything other than a scooter anyhow.
