Authorities say two suspects shot and killed two police officers at a Las Vegas eatery Sunday before fatally shooting a third person and killing themselves inside a nearby Walmart. Gov. Brian Sandoval issued a statement saying he was devastated by the murders of the two officers and an "innocent bystander."

Las Vegas police spokesman Larry Hadfield says the spree began late Sunday morning when a man and woman walked into CiCi's Pizza and shot two officers who were eating lunch. He says the suspects then fled to the Walmart across the street, where they fatally shot a person inside and then killed themselves in an apparent suicide pact.

So sorry for those murdered.  I will be very interested in what police uncover as two who the two killers were, why they killed others, and why they comitted suicide.

I saw this on MSN page. Found it interesting that on same page they carried a video about bullet proof clothing. Of course very expensive but wonder if somebody doesn't come up with bullet proof clothing that Joe Blow on the street can afford. And yes, I know it doesn't do a twitt if you are shot in the head instead!!

My first thought is sovereign citizen/anti-government types whenever police are targeted. 

     Monse Galindo, 19, a customer in the store, was near the registers when she saw a tall, thin, middle-aged white man in military-style clothing walk in with a small gun in his hand.  “He came in, shouting, ‘The revolution is about to start,’ something about a war, and that the cops were on their way,” Galindo told the Los Angeles Times, adding that the man then fired one shot in the air.

Sounds like one.

That was my one and only thought.  

I just do not understand why death is so much better than life, let alone taking other peoples' lives for what ever ìs one's cause.

White supremacists/anti-government

     The pair who fatally shot two Las Vegas police officers and one civilian before taking their own lives Sunday are believed to be a married couple who possessed white supremacist paraphernalia and spoke of targeting police officers.

     

     The Review-Journal reported that the female suspect shot one of the officers from behind at close range while he was refilling a soft drink. She then shot the other officer as he drew his pistol. The suspects then grabbed the officers' weapons and ammunition and stormed out of the pizzeria, Assistant Sheriff Kevin McMahill told KVVU Fox 5. The Review-Journal reported that the pair then covered the officers with a cloth that featured the Gadsden flag, which features a coiled snake with the words "Don't Tread on Me."

They were handing out white-power propaganda and were talking about doing the next Columbine," neighbor Brandon Moore told the Sun.

     Other residents, including Sue Hale, told the Sun the couple had claimed to be at Cliven Bundy's Nevada ranch during an April standoff between militia members and federal agents. The duo had professed strong support for Bundy, who had been cited for grazing his cattle on public land without a permit.

Guess this is an expansion of the bullet-proof backpacks I heard about after the school shootings?  Pretty sad that bullet-proof anything should have to be produced and marketed to the general public but, as EVT said, seems like we can't even go a week without a public shooting.

And what about the MSN link today that 29 people were shot in Chicago over the weekend!   Haven't had time to read the story yet, though.
