It's shocking that none of the SCR items (NONE) were on sale in the CA ad. I ended up spending $38 in UPs and $1.12 in OOP to get $32 back in SCRs, but we really needed the Desenex which would have cost $8.49 normal price. It's all good since I got most of the UPs for free. Did anyone else have problems with the Keri IP beeping? My cashier pushed it right through. OH, also was told by the cashier that the store manager got fired last week. She had no idea why. AND one of my fav cashiers at CVS got fired last week. What the heck is going on? That's a bummer about none of the SCR's being on sale in Cali. Yes, my Keri coupon beeped as well. My cashier pushed it through too. Threw me off though, because I wasn't expecting that one to beep!

I couldn't get the target sample thing to load - bummer - I LOVE free samples!!!

Dancinmama and Leanna, Thanks for your replies the other day! I'm kinda sitting on the sidelines for a while, as far as hounding. We don't need much right now. And the aggravation from WAGS and RA is just not worth it to me. PS: Leanna, I live in Oregon City. I think you're the first person I've seen from around here! Thank you for the offer of coupons. The only 1 I really want right now wasn't in the Smart Source I got today (so I imagine you wouldn't have gotten it either) ... which has been happening a lot lately!

Hound Alert Could any one spare the Xtra Laundry Detergent $.50/1 that's supposed to be in today's (3/6) SS? HCW lists it, but I didn't get it. Please PM me if you're able, and let me know what I can send in return. Thanks!

leanna- Laundry questions are never stupid- When I first started doing laundry, (I know some of the gang has heard this one, but it's a very laughable and literal rinse and repeat) I was 8 or 9 and didn't realize that my DM could pour laundry detergent without measuring because she was bigger than me (think the old cheap Acme/Albertson's red store brand detergent with the yellow top and no measuring cap). I put waaaay too much detergent in the washer and it foamed over like in that episode of the Brady Bunch! Dancin- Thank you- I needed that. aprilleigh- I get my coupons tomorrow and will get right back to you.

But if you need anything else - especially anything that's recent, let me know, because I have multiples of the recent inserts.

I started a spreadsheet to track my grocery and HBA savings. I wonder if anyone here shops at ShopRite or can help me decode my receipt. At the bottom of the receipt it has Total On Sale Savings and then it has another line of PPC & Mfr Cpns which is probably ShopRite's Price Plus Card and the face value of the Mfr Cpns since the doubled amounts don't show there.
So here's the question and my confusion. I'm not sure what the difference is between PPC savings and On Sale savings especially when I look at a couple of my receipts. Here's two samples:
MK Hormel RST BF PC 2.19F on Sale You Saved 0.30 MC 8477 PC MARY KITCHEN HA 0.20-F
This confuses me since I remember the sale price being $1.99. Is it possible its telling me ShopRite's reg. price is $2.49?
TERRA EXOTIC SWT OPC 3.79F On Sale You Saved 0.20 MC 2945 PC TERRA CHIPS 0.80-F
I had a $1 coupon for this last item and unsure of what the reg. price is except its more than I'm willing to pay on a regular basis. $3.99 and up depending on the store. So maybe the price before coupon on the chips was $2.79 or $2.99?

I noticed something REALLY odd at Safeway. When I went to buy the CA Pizza Kitchen, the CATs started printing out as the cashier scanned the items instead of after payment was received.

Hound Alert!!This isn't a deal posting, but a great coupon. Physician's Formula website has been giving some free samples. They had two of them, but both have all been given out, so now they are giving a $5 .pdf coupon good on any PF item. It doesn't expire until June, so there will probably be some great deals. Save the file! mypfbeauty.com/user_content/pdf/eyebooster-coupon.pdf

Duh! Thanks, I had 3 of the P&G inserts. Which brings me to my question. Those of you who save the entire inserts, how do you know what is in them? I actually had to sit in a display patio chair at CVS last week and go through all of my binder (not big yet) trying to find something I knew I had seen. Now I have a fancy pants phone so I access the coupon database. But before I would print the preview. You can get that from various blogs. I used to use the one madcoupons sent. Print that and put it in front of inserts for that week. Thank you for all the suggestions, bluesclues - I think this may be a good option for me.

I work night so I am a day sleeper. It is pathetic to me that I couldn't sleep today because I couldn't wait to go through the coupons.
I used 2 of the $3/1 Q's at Walmart for the Gain dryer sheets. It was more at my Walmart that a previous hounder mentioned. They were $3.82 each plus tax. I think they should charge the same at every Walmart in the country. It made me mad.
Then I made a quick trip to WAGS for some Dawn dishsoap. I am getting better at this. I got 2 bottles of Dawn and a bag of orange slices candy for $1.33 OOP.

I use iheartpublix.com all the time to do my grocery "hounding" but my prices are always more expensive then where ever they are from. Sometimes it makes it not such a great deal. Besides that "she" gets double coupons. It makes me mad too, but I think it is mostly because different areas with different competitors makes the pricing different.

I live in anarea where the prices are ALWAYS higher than those bloggers from other areas post PLUS my coupons do NOT double and are often lower value than these posters post.
Miz bear I did no hounding on Sun. Weather here was poor but not as bad as yours. I just cut up the chicken I bought Sat and took a long nap.
Leanna Fabric softener goes in the rinse cycle.
Dancin Not sure if the store staff has been fired or just laid off. Around here CVS has been laying off like CRAZY.
I am thinking about checking out the new Walmart coupon policy if I can get going by 7 am. I know the cashier will know NOTHING. I am betting neither the customer service manager nor the store manager on duty at that early hour will know NOTHING and will accuse me of making up the policy I printed out. I just might ask if they are accusing me of fraud and INSIST on their calling the police and swearing out a complaint. My following lawsuit will ensure a comfortable retirement. Guess I better take some $$$ w/me so I can post bail w/o having to call anyone.
Yes, I expect trouble as I have ALWAYS had trouble at Walmart. Does not matter if I am trying to price match w/another store’s ad in hand, using insert coupons or using IP coupons. This is another place that seems to have trouble hiring people who can actually read. I am cooking up a bunch of the cheap chicken I bought on Sat (bone in breasts for 0.79/lb) and while I have the oven on I am roasting some plum tomatoes for a pasta dish I want to make later in the week.
Off to check AFC &HCW for Walmart experiences.

Does that mean you could use them on this order? I've seen people do that at self check, but not sure if it would beep.....and make an employee come over to accept it.

That means if you use self serve, you can use it in that same transaction itself. I don't think it will beep. If you try it let us know. For every 2 that you buy you also get 1$/2 MQ from the cat machine. So those who don't have Qs can buy 2 and use the cats and the 1$ off MQ.

Cost of living in a particular area makes a difference too. I live in a high COLA and a lot of times when non-ad price is quoted for something at WAGs (for a buy a certain dollar amount of a product, get a RR), 90% of the time the prices are higher at my store. The same goes for reporting of clearance prices at WAGs or CVS; but sometimes I get lucky and it is the same.

Optimist4Life - SR does have sale prices versus Price Plus card prices, but try as I might, I can't make heads or tails of that receipt!
