Not a meme. But if you like whales, this video is for you. Synchronized swimming, by whales! That was crazy! They swim in a circle below to herd the fish and slowly rise and blow bubbles to force the fish up to the surface. Then they swoop in to feed. |

Synchronized swimming, by whales! That was crazy! They swim in a circle below to herd the fish and slowly rise and blow bubbles to force the fish up to the surface. Then they swoop in to feed. Now that you say that, I remember learning that, years ago. But holy moly, there were so many of them! When I learned about it, they showed 3-4 whales circling, and although it was smart, I felt bad for their victims. I had no idea so many got together and did it! Holy crap! I would have been been in awe, but totally freaked out, seeing so many, so close! Heck, I'm kind of freaked out, seeing the video! Although I went back and watched it several times. Haha Amazing! |

I was in Newfoundland last week. Someone pointed out birds out in the water, and said to watch for a whale, because the birds follow whales for easy feeding. We waited for a while, but no whale appeared.

Back in the early 90s, work had me living in New Hampshire. My parents came for a visit and we went on a whale watch boat trip into the Gulf of Maine. To be safe, my parents took some Dramamine to avoid sea sickness. I toughed it out and took none. We saw a couple of humpback whales surface but no breaching. Unfortunately, the Gulf was choppy that day and the majority of the boat passengers missed the surfacing humpbacks because they were leaning over the sides of the boat hurling their breakfasts. I was fine. I synched my legs to roll with the boat. |

If anyone likes toads, cute site on Facebook: Toby Toad. Toby ToadI'm not a giant fan of toads, but I did think it was interesting, all the different poses they came up with. I really liked frogs and toads, as a kid, until I tried to catch a tree frog (I didn't know there were such things), and when it jumped, it startled the crap out of me! |

I did. He didn't like scary little animals. It's true. I laughed! You are genuinely a kind person. My dad's next door neighbor was a police officer, who took his car home at the end of his shift. He didn't like it in his driveway, blocking his garage, so he parked it in my dad's driveway. And when his garbage cans were full, he filled my dad's (without asking). My dad finally started keeping them in his garage, so they weren't full when he took his own garbage out. No one dared to confront him. He was not the friendly type. He never waved, or said hello. Instead, he'd give you a look, like he was better than you. Even after 30 yrs, or so. When my dad died and we were cleaning out his house, the garbage cans got put out at the side of his house again. And they were promptly filled by the neighbor, again. I am not generally a confrontational person. But when I went to my dad's one evening and I found both cans full, even though it was 10:30PM, I promptly went over and knocked loudly on his door. Both he and his wife answered. Him with a snarl on his face and his police dog. In my sweetest voice, I explained that we needed the can space, so I would appreciate it if he didn't use them. The look of shock on both their faces was priceless. He replied, no problem and I left. Talk about entitled! He now has to park in his own driveway again. Darn. |
