OMG...come on people! I am trying to hydrate for a race tomorrow and laughing so hard I cannot get a sip of water down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So we had a small brush fire just to the north of where we live. Blew up to 1600 acres, no structures, humans or homes injured or damaged. Relatively speaking, it kinda looked like this: But to hear it on the news, it looked more like this:

Time for this advice. For sure. I'm going to have to start paying attention to my makeup again, too. Ugh.

I'm thinking NancysSummerSip is in FL not the frigid mountains of China.

Sudden change of weather during the marathon. 21 Runners Die Saturday in Treacherous, Chinese Marathon Mountain RaceI did. Very scary thing. We have not had such an occurrence in the US, even in ultra marathon, high altitude events. It may be due to the fact that our racing here is strictly governed by first aid/EMS protocols that include aid stations strategically placed at intervals, water stations, and weather prediction technology that will stop a race if conditions are expected to change drastically. I also don't know how well prepared all those runners were for the high altitude. But from the sound of it, the weather itself seems to have been the issue. I've competed in high winds, thunderstorms, torrential rains and near-freezing temperatures. Just not all of them at the same time. I think the combination would be the end of me.

I felt bad for all the runners. Sad day for the sport.

Down-the-up escalator: When I used to take the PATH train from Penn Station in Newark to the WTC in Manhattan, it always reminded me of thousands of lemmings going up the escalators in the morning and the reversedirection late afternoon.

Looks like someone or something reversed the direction of the up escalator. Both sides were still stairs, but one reversed direction and the other looks like it stopped instead like its supposed to.

A quick story from last year at the doc's office. I was showing him the changes I'd made since the CHF diagnosis. My spreadsheet was easy to read, but when it came to reading the list in the upper right-hand corner: Iggy: Um, hmm. Let me see. What does that say? (As I turned the notebook around so I could read it.) I cannot read my handwriting..... Doc: People can never read mine either. Iggy: Well, you get paid for it....
